Alexandra Marinina is a native of the city of Lviv. Fate developed in such a way that in her youth the girl had to move to Leningrad, and later to Moscow. Marinina was a versatile child, studied at a music school and gravitated towards jurisprudence. She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Law of the Lomonosov Moscow State University. And then she was assigned to the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. She rose to the rank of lieutenant as a research assistant. Marinina studied the psyche of criminals who committed violent crimes. In 1986 she defended her Ph. D. thesis. Already during the years of her scientific career, the woman presented her writings. This includes 30 scientific papers and a monograph published by the UN Rome Interregional Institute on Crime and Justice.

The story "Six-Winged Seraphim" is the first, published in the magazine "Police" in 1991. The story was written together with a colleague in the service A. Gorkin. This was the beginning of literary activity.
