Filming for Remember Me began in the summer of 2009. Eight years have passed since the 9/11 tragedy. And although the film tells about love and difficult relationships in the family, it is the events of September 11, 2001, touched upon in it, that help to reveal the dramatic plot more vividly.

Step 1
The film was directed by Allen Coulter, who had previously shown himself in work on rather versatile projects. Together with Chris Carter, he worked on the thriller The X-Files, and later became the director of the TV series Sex and the City and the crime drama Death of Superman. The script for the film "Remember Me" attracted Coulter with subtly traced psychological portraits of the characters. Each character loves, copes with family disagreements, lives in his own way, but all heroes are equally difficult to endure the loss of a loved one.
Step 2
The main role in the film "Remember Me" was played by Robert Pattinson. When the script for the film fell into the hands of the actor, Pattinson was not yet the famous "Twilight Vampire." But even then he was quite in demand and could choose roles for himself. Tyler Hawkins' image attracted him with its complexity. This hero cannot be called a typical ladies' man, who, moreover, easily manages to overcome all obstacles in his path. Tyler is a multifaceted person with his own problems and deep feelings. It was possible to play this role well only in one case: if you get used to the image of Tyler Hawkins.
Step 3
For the role of Tyler's beloved, Ellie, Emily De Ravin, already known to the viewer for her participation in the TV series "Lost", was approved. She auditioned for the role of Ellie Craig three weeks before filming began. In an interview with MTV, the actress admitted that chemistry instantly arose between her and Pattinson at the audition, thanks to which the shooting was quick and easy.
Step 4
The role of Tyler's father was played by Pierce Brosnan. Long before filming began, Brosnan invited Robert to a restaurant to get to know him better. The first part of The Twilight Saga had not yet been released and Pattinson was not familiar to the general public. Everyone knew Brosnan. When someone approached the eminent actor to get his autograph, Pierce smiled and jokingly introduced Robert Pattinson to the interlocutor as his son.
Step 5
Filming took place in the summer of 2009 in New York. Some scenes were filmed in Manhattan, where fans and paparazzi kept Robert Pattinson, who had already become famous by that time, out of the way. In one of the interviews, the actor recalls that many viewers behaved adequately and did not interfere with the filming process. Some of them screamed and hooted, trying in every possible way to distract Pattinson. Therefore, certain scenes of the film had to be re-shot over and over again. However, despite some difficulties, the premiere of the film "Remember Me" in the world box office took place on March 1, 2010.
