Parcel post is a postal item weighing from 100 grams to 2 kg. In it you can send newspapers and magazines, books, manuscripts, photographs worth up to 10 thousand rubles. You can send a parcel post at any branch of the Russian Post.

Step 1
First, the parcel must be packed. You can do this on your own (for example, seal it with paper on all sides) or buy packing material (an envelope or a small box) at the post office. In the second case, there will be no problems with writing the recipient and sender addresses. Seal the envelope or box, write the address and send the shipment to the post office employee.
The operator will weigh the parcel and calculate the shipping cost. It depends on the weight of the item and its nature. A simple parcel post is cheaper, and a customized one is more expensive.
The registered nature of the shipment gives more guarantees that it will reach the addressee. However, it is believed that registered shipments take longer than ordinary ones.
Step 2
Delivery of a simple parcel in Russia costs from 25, 4 rubles. for 100 grams of weight, customized - 33, 15. For every additional 20 grams, 1.25 rubles are charged. When sending a parcel with a declared value (in this case, when sending, you announce the cost of the parcel's contents and have the right to demand compensation from the post office if the shipment is lost), the cost of postal services is affected by the weight, distance and method of delivery. The minimum distance charged for is up to 600 km.
Step 3
Delivery by air is more expensive; combined delivery is also possible: partly by land transport, partly by plane. In this case, the cost is calculated in proportion to the distance over which the shipment was delivered by each of the methods. An additional fee is also charged for each full ruble of the declared value of the parcel.
If the parcel is sent by cash on delivery (the condition for its receipt is the payment by the addressee of the cost of the contents of the parcel), the mail will take an additional fee for sending money.
Step 4
After sending the parcel, you can track all the stages of its shipment using a special online service on the Russian Post website.
