From the biography of D. Klokov

The future famous weightlifter was born in the city of Balashikha (this is the Moscow region). Dmitry Klokov's date of birth is February 18, 1983. The athlete's father also showed excellent results in weightlifting, was the champion of Europa and the world. And even headed the federation of this sport in Russia.

Dmitry Klokov is married. His family is his wife Elena and daughter Nastya. The athlete met Lena in 2005. Young people immediately decided to start a family, but the marriage was officially registered only a year later. Klokov also has a sister, her name is Anna.

Dmitry Vyacheslavovich received his education at the Ural Institute of Physical Education. He also attended the School of Higher Sports Excellence in Bashkortostan.

In childhood, Dima played football with enthusiasm, after that he studied in the judo section - and even won prizes in competitions. But Klokov's passion was weightlifting.

Sports career

Klokov began training with weights in 1995. Gennady Anikanov became the mentor of the young athlete. At first, the father objected to his son's decision to take up such a difficult sport. But then he changed his mind and tried in every possible way to help Dmitry in training. And they sometimes lasted several hours a day - almost every day. Klokov had to follow a strict diet. He was regularly given massage, which protects athletes from injury.

Three years have passed since the beginning of training. And now Dmitry has already won the Russian championship among juniors. A little later, he took bronze at the European Championships. In 2001, the young man joined the national team.

Klokov has always strongly opposed the use of steroids and other stimulants. But at all times he tried to adhere to a balanced diet. Together with a well-thought-out training program, this allowed the athlete to achieve solid results in an extremely short time.

Since 2004, Klokov has consistently won a number of victories in competitions at various levels. However, the injury received at the national championship did not allow Dmitry to excel at the Beijing Olympics. He managed to win only "silver", losing to the Belarusian athlete A. Aryamnov.

Successful businessman

In 2011, Klokov, without leaving sports, started his own business. He started a business for the sale of Winner sports equipment and clothing on the network. The athlete himself advertised the company's products more than once, participated in photo shoots as a model.

In 2015, Dmitry Vyacheslavovich made a difficult decision: he announced that he was leaving the sport. The professional career of one of the best weightlifters in the country ended there.
