William Archibald Paxton is an American actor, screenwriter, artist, producer and director. He has dozens of excellent roles in film and television. He was repeatedly nominated for awards: "Golden Globe", "Emmy", "Saturn", "Sputnik", the Screen Actors Guild of the United States.
Paxton's creative biography began in the 70s of the last century with small roles in films and with filming in commercials. The start of his serious career in cinema can be called the role in the cult film "The Terminator". She did not bring him success. However, it was then that the young actor was noticed by the famous director James Cameron, who played an important role in his fate.
Many critics have called Paxton "the king of the second plan." Viewers remember him from the films: "Titanic", "Aliens", "True Lies", "Tornado", "Apollo 13", "Colony", "Sphere", "Big Love".
Paxton passed away in 2017. This happened after complications resulting from heart surgery. Friends and colleagues at the farewell ceremony with the actor said that Paxton was an amazingly sincere person, that with his departure the world became much smaller.
early years
Paxton was born in Texas in the spring of 1955. His father was engaged in a woodworking business, but, carried away by cinema, he left his business and began acting in extras. Bill's mother ran the household and raised the children.
The boy was no different from his peers. He was fond of football, did not stand out among the students at school, did not dream of an actor's career.
One of Bill's vivid childhood memories was the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Having gone with his parents to Dallas to greet the President, Bill witnessed with his own eyes how the assassination of the country's leader took place. The father put the little son on his shoulders so that he could better see the passing motorcade. It was then that the tragic event that took Kennedy's life happened. The photograph of Bill sitting on his father's shoulders and greeting the President is still kept in the Paxton family album.
Film career
After graduating from high school, Bill went to Los Angeles, where he began to look for work. After working in a parking lot for several months, Paxton got a job at the studio as a costume designer. And it was there that I first began to think about the acting profession, watching the work on the set.
In the mid-70s, Paxton got the opportunity to play in the movie "Crazy Mom". He got a cameo role, but the director was pleasantly surprised by Bill's work. And then he advised him to continue acting in films. The young man went to New York, where he began to study acting with a teacher Stella Adler.
In the early 80s, Paxton got a small role in the comedy "Reluctant Volunteers". This was followed by work in the films: "Night Warning", "Lords of Discipline", "The Hitchhiker", "Streets on Fire", "Miami Police: Department of Morals", "Commando", "Terminator".
In the mid-80s, his career began to take off. Paxton soon played one of his successful roles, playing Private Hudson in the science fiction movie Aliens. For this work, Paxton was awarded the Saturn Awards in the Best Supporting Actor category.
In the further career of the actor, many excellent roles in films: "Predator 2", "Seals", "True Lies", "Elena in a Box", "Apollo 13", "Tornado", "Titanic", "Mighty Joe Young", "Big Love", "Colony", "Knockout", "Edge of the Future".
Paxton's most recent projects were The Sphere and Training Day. The premiere of the latter took place in early February 2017, a few days before the death of the famous actor.
Personal life
In Paxton's life, there were two women with whom he formalized an official relationship.
The first wife was Kelly Rowan. Bill and Kelly got married in 1979, but a year later their marriage broke up.
Paxton met his second wife on the bus and immediately fell in love with an attractive girl, Louise Newbury. The romantic relationship lasted two years. In 1987, Bill and Louise became husband and wife. Two children were born in the marriage: James and Lydia.
It is also worth noting that in 2005 James made his acting debut in the film, directed by his father, called "Triumph". Once again on set, father and son appeared in Paxton's latest project, Training Day.
