Pensioners who belong to the category of low-income citizens have the right to receive benefits for paying utility bills. The condition for obtaining this benefit is the excess of the cost of housing and communal services above the level established for the given region. Those retirees who use wood-burning stoves to heat their homes can expect to be reimbursed for part of their fuel costs. Additional benefits for this type of expenses are still reserved for those pensioners who have the status of "Veteran of Labor". But in many regions this status was abolished due to a lack of funds in local budgets.

Tax incentives are also provided for senior citizens. They can pay a smaller amount of transport, land and property tax of individuals. Since the transport tax rate is different in each region, the amount of benefits and payments should be clarified in the territorial tax office. As a rule, retirees are exempted from paying transport tax for one vehicle of installed capacity. Benefits for the other two taxes are established by the municipal authorities. In some localities, pensioners are completely exempted from the obligation to pay them, in some they pay only a part of the due amount. This procedure is of a declarative nature. To apply for a benefit, you must present an application and your pension certificate to the tax inspector.

The authorities of some municipalities additionally establish other social benefits. The travel of pensioners in urban and suburban transport is privileged. To do this, you need to issue a discount ticket for travel with the social security authorities or receive special coupons. For those pensioners who live in the northern regions of Russia, one trip to the place of rest and back is paid annually. To receive this benefit, you must present travel tickets to the branch of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation at the place of residence. Pensioners living in remote areas of the country are entitled to partial compensation for plane tickets.
Step 5
In some regions, retirees can count on free dental clinic services and dental prosthetics benefits. In any region, single retirees over 80 years old or with health problems can contact the social security authorities so that social workers come to their homes to clean up and bring food from the store. This service is provided free of charge.
