A housing or housing construction cooperative is a voluntary association of citizens to manage an apartment building. In accordance with the Housing Code of the Russian Federation, residents have the right to join a voluntary organization serving their home.
Instructions
Step 1
Find out if your home is serviced by a housing cooperative. To do this, you can contact the senior citizen at home or the management office of the housing and communal services. If there is no cooperative, tenants can organize one and select members. To do this, the founders need to hold a meeting and, by general vote, approve the composition. The decision adopted by the meeting of the founders of the housing cooperative is formalized in the minutes. Please note that a housing cooperative cannot have less than five members.
Step 2
If you already have a housing cooperative in your home, contact its chairman and sign up for the next meeting of the organization. If there are more than five citizens wishing to join the cooperative, the meeting is held extraordinary. Show up at the appointed time for the meeting and wait until the end of the general voting of the participants in favor of nominating your candidacy for joining the cooperative. In case of a positive decision and securing it in the protocol, you can consider yourself an official member of the housing cooperative.
Step 3
Remember that the Housing Code of the Russian Federation provides for some restrictions on the categories of citizens eligible to join a housing cooperative. It is possessed by citizens who have reached the age of 16 and legal entities who own premises in this residential building. In addition, each housing cooperative has its own charter, which may spell out certain rules for joining the organization and membership in it. Before joining, you have the right to familiarize yourself with this document.
