Mad dog "," ghoul "- touches to the portrait of the former" Amir "Ali Taziev. This is one of the bloody Caucasian militants, on whose account there are many ruined lives. For more than a decade, he terrified the inhabitants of the Caucasus. In 2010, his career as a fighter ended with an arrest. For his atrocities, Taziev received a "life sentence", although he tried to cooperate with the authorities, trying to bargain for a mitigation of the sentence.
Ali Taziev: from the biography of a Caucasian militant
There is no exact information about Ali Taziev's date of birth. According to some sources, he was born in August 1974, according to others, in 1978. Ingush by nationality. Different sources define the place of birth of the militant in their own way: it is supposedly Grozny or one of the villages of Checheno-Ingushetia. Little is known about the insurgent's personal life, family and education.
Taziev did not take part in the first Chechen campaign. He joined the militants in 1996. There is information that in 1998 Taziev was a senior lieutenant in the department of non-departmental security of the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs. Other sources ascribe to him only the rank of sergeant. However, during Taziev's service, colleagues called him Colonel. Apparently, even then he was thinking about a career as a leader.
In 1998, Taziev disappeared under unclear circumstances during an incident involving the abduction of the wife of the adviser to the head of Ingushetia, Olga Uspenskaya. In 2000, according to the court, Ali Musayevich was declared dead.
In fact, Taziev joined the ranks of the gang, having made forged documents for himself. He joined the group of the notorious Abu Al-Walid. Subsequently, Taziev created his own battle group, which included fighters of various nationalities, including two Arabs. At the same time, Taziev allegedly received his own call sign - "Magas".
Terrorist activities of Taziev
In 2003, Ali Taziev's group launched major terrorist attacks. In May, militants attacked a federal convoy. In the summer, the head of the administration of one of the villages in Chechnya was shot.
In the spring of 2004, Basayev granted Taziev the title of "Amir", that is, the leader of the militants in Ingushetia. In the same period, Taziev took part in a raid on Nazran. On his hands is the blood of one of the leaders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia and two prosecutors. After that, the militant was put on the federal wanted list.
There is evidence that "Amir" Taziev was directly involved in the attack on the Beslan school. It was even believed that he was destroyed during the storming of the building. This is not the first and not the last message about the death of Taziev: none of them was subsequently confirmed.
The militant leader is responsible for several brutal killings of local leaders, as well as abductions of civilians. Often, Taziev's militants demanded a significant ransom for the kidnapped.
"Magas" has earned the fame of the second (after Umarov) Caucasian terrorist. The head of Chechnya, R. Kadyrov, considered this person more dangerous than Umarov, especially for the civilians of the republic.
Arrest and trial
In the summer of 2010, Taziev was seized by security forces in the town of Malgobek (Ingushetia). Here he was hiding for more than 2 years, living with a fake passport. The militant did not show any resistance. He was taken to the Moscow prison "Lefortovo" and charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Trying to avoid life imprisonment, Taziev cooperated with the investigation, testifying against a number of his accomplices, who were also arrested. However, the investigation did not leave a chance for a mitigation of the sentence.
In October 2013, the leader of the militants was sentenced to life in prison. A terrorist is serving his sentence in the famous White Swan colony (Solikamsk).
