Step 1
There are quite a few sites on the Internet that make it possible to find out the telephone codes of Russian cities. However, using various services, you should be more careful, as some of them provide outdated information. There may be an incorrect digit at the beginning of the area code, for example, "0" instead of "4". Using such reference data, you can simply not get through to the subscriber. Therefore, in order to find out the area code, you need to choose a site that promptly updates its databases and displays up-to-date information. For example, go to the site of an interregional telecom operator.
Step 2
At the bottom, you will see the "Reference Information" link. By clicking on it, you will be taken to the corresponding page. On the left side of the page that opens, there is a menu. In the field with the reference information, find the link "International and area codes" and click on it.
Step 3
Next, you will see two fields that you need to fill in to find out the area code: "Country" and "City". Select a country from the drop-down list, type the name of the city on the keyboard and click "Find". In the table of search results that appears, you will see the telephone area code that you were looking for.
