Hearing the question of which country is the most drinking in the world, many will by inertia say: "Russia". However, the rating compiled by the World Health Organization, which consists of seven countries that are leaders in the consumption of alcoholic beverages per capita in one year, testifies to a completely different result.

The rating is opened by a small African country Andorra. Local citizens, because of their love for alcohol, were able to take seventh place. The result of the research showed that there are almost 15.5 liters of alcohol per capita in this country per year.

One step lower in the "hit parade" is Estonia, where 15.56 liters of alcoholic beverages are consumed per person per year. The country's authorities are unsuccessfully trying to reduce the amount of alcohol consumed by introducing a ban similar to the Russian one on its sale from 22-00 to 10-00. It is forbidden here to sell alcohol-containing liquids to minors, as well as to appear with alcohol in public places, with the exception of specially designated ones (meaning restaurants, cafes and bars).

Ukraine is in fifth place. The rich traditions of the feast, which cannot take place without the famous vodka and pepper vodka, along with the European mentality, which does not provide for strong prohibitions on drinking alcohol, played a role. Therefore, as a result of research, it became known that the average Ukrainian consumes about 15.57 liters per year.

In fourth place, you can see Russia, which is considered the birthplace of vodka and various tinctures based on it. In the case of Russians, the level of per capita consumption of alcoholic beverages is 15.57 liters per year. This figure falls slightly from year to year, which lawmakers associate with the restrictions on the sale of alcohol introduced in the country. It is curious that the lion's share in the drink is taken not by vodka or cognac, but by beer.

The third place of the intoxicated "hit parade" is taken by Hungary. And this fact is not at all surprising, because it is in this country, like nowhere else, that they like to drink a glass of beer with a delicious dinner of hearty and varied traditional dishes. In just one year, a Hungarian can drink about 16.3 liters of intoxicated drinks.

"Silver" in the rating was able to win the Czech Republic, which is famous all over the world for its beer. Here, the average person drinks about 16.5 liters of alcohol. It should be noted that Czech brewing traditions have a long history. And therefore, no restrictions will be able to limit the consumption of the foamy drink, especially since the place of the Czech Republic in the ranking is, in fact, rather doubtful, because it is extremely difficult to calculate how much the citizens of the country drink, and how much its multimillion tourist audience, arriving specifically for the fact that try one of the famous varieties of live beer.

Well, the first "victorious" place is taken by Moldova. This is a country where almost everyone is fluent in the knowledge and practice of the art of wine. Probably, it was this fact that could influence such results, which show that, on average, one person per year accounts for about 18, 3 liters of alcohol.
