Every year the British analytical institute Legatum publishes a ranking of countries according to the level of prosperity. The rating is compiled on the basis of 79 indicators grouped into eight categories. In 2014, Norway was named the most prosperous country in the world.

Step 1
The indicators on which the rating is based are grouped into eight categories. These are the economic situation, business environment, government, education, health care, security, personal freedoms, and social capital. The ranking of each country is determined by calculating the average of the indicators. The data is based on statistical analysis, population surveys, sociological analysis. A detailed description of the methodology for calculating the Prosperity Index is given in the annual release of the ranking.

According to the survey results, 67% of Norwegians believe that they can easily find a new job, 90, 2% say that Norway is a good country for immigrants, and 94% say that they have someone to rely on in difficult times.

In terms of economic indicators, Norway ranked first in the ranking. Inflation in Norway is only 0.7% and unemployment is 3.3%. GDP per capita is 65,639.8 dollars.

In terms of business opportunities and conditions, Norway ranks 6th in the world. In Norway, it is quite easy to start your own business and achieve success through your work. The researchers also note that Norwegian citizens have access to all technological advances.

The lowest score was given to the level of government in Norway. According to this indicator, the most prosperous country in the world is in 12th place. The government is quite stable here (66 years have passed since the last regime change). The experts rated the political rights of Norwegians and their ability to interfere in the affairs of the state at 7 points out of 10.

Norway ranks 4th in the world in terms of education. There is an absolute equality of boys and girls in the right to receive education. 99, 1% of school-age children attend educational institutions, there is one teacher for every 10 students.

The health care system in Norway is ranked 5th in the world. 94% of the population have been vaccinated against dangerous diseases. The average life expectancy is 81.3 years, of which the Norwegians have been free of any disease for about 73 years.

Norway ranks 6th in terms of safety. The likelihood of a civil war in the country is zero. The level of crime and violence by the authorities is very low.

In terms of personal freedoms, Norway is in 2nd place. The majority claim to have absolute freedom of choice, political views, and speech. Norwegians do not feel pressure from the authorities.

Norway ranks first in the world in terms of social capital. Norwegians spend a lot on charity, trust each other, rely on their loved ones in need, are ready to help strangers. 77% of the inhabitants of Norway are completely satisfied with their lives.
