With such actions, she wanted to solve two problems: to make officials work for the good of the city, to show by her own example that everyone can change his life and the people around him. However, journalism remained more important than parliamentary representation.
In March 2011, regular elections are held, where Olga again nominates herself. The people support her. Over the years, the politician has been actively:
- dealt with issues of increasing the budget for the state. institutions;
- fought against unscrupulous developers;
- criticized local authorities;

In May 2012, O. Timofeeva became a deputy of the State Duma. After that, she was appointed a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications. Olga Timofeeva notes that she got into the State Duma thanks to the All-Russian Popular Front.
She is a member of the United Russia faction, but did not join the party. This is due to the personal point of view that a journalist has no right to join any party.
