With a large lead over her rivals, she breaks into the leader. With such actions, she wanted to solve two problems: to make officials work for the good of the city, to show by her own example that everyone can change his life and the people around him. However, journalism remained more important than parliamentary representation.

In March 2011, regular elections are held, where Olga again nominates herself. The people support her. Over the years, the politician has been actively:

  • dealt with issues of increasing the budget for the state. institutions;
  • fought against unscrupulous developers;
  • criticized local authorities;
  • renovated schools;
  • pledged money into the budget for the construction of hospitals and clinics.

In May 2012, O. Timofeeva became a deputy of the State Duma. After that, she was appointed a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications. Olga Timofeeva notes that she got into the State Duma thanks to the All-Russian Popular Front.

She is a member of the United Russia faction, but did not join the party. This is due to the personal point of view that a journalist has no right to join any party.

In 2016, according to the results of preliminary voting, United Russia took first place in the regional part of the party list. In the same year she was re-elected as a deputy of the State Duma of the 7th convocation. Appointed Chairman of the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection. In 2017, Olga Timofeeva spoke out against the euthanasia of stray dogs and for a program for the return sterilization of animals. She called the latter's opponents "people playing on emotions." The position drew criticism from animal advocates.

In 2018, with the participation of Olga Timofeeva, amendments were made to the legislation on waste. Requirements for public discussion of territorial waste management schemes were introduced. She notes that to this day there is no government by-law on how exactly public discussions are held, how the opinion of citizens is taken into account in the placement of "garbage" objects.

In the same year, the complex issue of the salaries of teachers in Sevastopol was raised. Olga Timofeeva said that the salaries of teachers and doctors over the past year have decreased by 20%. The day after the interview, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, the city's governor, called the statement "stupid" because the level of salaries is at a decent level.

At the end of October 2018, O. Timofeeva spoke in favor of maintaining the status of federal resorts. In her opinion, the softening of the environmental regime will negatively affect the development of resorts.
