Biography
Roman Kostomarov was born in Moscow in 1977. His parents were ordinary workers: his father worked as an electrician and his mother as a cook. He was an active and sociable child. The boy really wanted to go in for sports, but he was not accepted in the section. An acquaintance of the parents worked in the Ice Palace and helped to resolve this issue. So at the age of 9 he entered the world of figure skating.
Roman quickly became involved in classes, he actively trained. The first successes came to him after a couple of months: at New Year's performances he performed on a par with the older guys. The coach immediately noticed his extraordinary abilities. Soon he was taken to her team by Lydia Karavaeva. The woman treated Kostomarov harshly, but this did not prevent her from loving him.
The novel was surprisingly flexible and felt great music. To help her pupil build a dizzying sports career, Lydia Karavaeva invited him to perform in tandem with her daughter. With Katya Davydova, Kostomarov made a harmonious union. The young skaters have been partners in the ice arena for almost 10 years. In 1996, they won the World Championship.
In 1998, Roman Kostomarov left for the United States. At first, he had to practically survive: there was not enough money even for the most necessary things. The mentor paired him with Tatyana Navka. A year later, the duet was recognized as unpromising, and Anna Semenovich became the new partner. In 2000, the skaters took the silver medal at the World Championships. Young people could hardly find a common language, often quarreled, which could not but affect their careers. The mentor decided to return the duet with Navka. Since 2003, the couple's career has gone up. They won one championship after another.
Kostomarov decided to leave the sport at the peak of his popularity. At the moment, Roman Sergeevich is participating in the projects of Channel One, starring in serials.
Personal life
Roman Sergeevich was married twice. The first wife of the skater was the athlete Yulia Lautova. Their wedding took place in 2004. Three years later, the couple announced their divorce.
The second wife of Kostomarov was also selected from the inner circle. Oksana Domnina is the world figure skating champion. The girl performed in tandem with Maxim Shabalin.
Young people began to live in a civil marriage. 2011 was a significant year for the couple: they became the parents of a wonderful girl Anastasia. After 2 years, Oksana Domnina announced that she was leaving Kostomarov. The reason was Roman's indecision. For so many years, he never dared to make an official marriage proposal. After a while, the passions calmed down, and the skaters made up. In 2014, Roman and Oksana formalized their relationship, and two years later they became parents again. A son, Ilya, appeared in their family.
