The future Russian businessman was born on January 25, 1976. Dmitry Mazurov was born in Leninsk, Kazakhstan, where his family lived at that time.
Dmitry received his education in an area far from business. Dmitry Petrovich graduated from Kazan State University. His diploma specialty is radiophysicist. But the young man full of ambitions was more attracted by commercial activities. Mazurov began to comprehend the basics of entrepreneurship at the leading oil company in Tatarstan. Soon, Dmitry already received the position of deputy director of the company's representative office in Kazan.
Career of a Russian entrepreneur
year 2001. Mazurov moves to the capital of the country, where he establishes a company in the oil and gas industry. Until 2006, the company traded gas condensate in cooperation with foreign partners. One of the firm's lines of business is the supply of petroleum products from Bashkiria to the domestic market.
At about the same time D. Mazurov started to found the New Stream association. The entrepreneur spent a lot of time and effort on creating a private oil refinery in Tyumen. The first products of the enterprise entered the market in 2006.
Mazurov also showed interest in the sphere of "clean" finance: in 2010, Dmitry Petrovich became a member of the management of Interprombank, having received about a fifth of the shares of this financial structure.
The industrial and financial group headed by Mazurov was directly involved in the search and development of deposits in different regions of the country. By 2016, the total revenue of the association amounted to at least $ 3 billion.
A couple of years later, Mazurov became a member of the leadership of the national union of industrialists and entrepreneurs, where he became responsible for the oil and gas industry.
Arrest and prosecution
In July 2019, a sensational report appeared in the press: Mazurov was allegedly detained at the airport in the capital. The famous businessman was accused of allegedly participating in the embezzlement of $ 3 billion from a number of financial organizations, among which Sberbank and Promsvyazbank were named.
According to another version, earlier Dmitry Petrovich himself arrived at the investigating authorities, where he gave explanations on a number of circumstances of interest to the security officials. However, later the investigators had reason to believe that the entrepreneur could leave the country, after which it was decided to detain him.
The criminal prosecution coincided with the difficult financial situation at the enterprises of the industrial group headed by Mazurov. The deep oil refinery eventually suspended its work and came under the control of the structures of Sberbank, the group's main creditor.
As a result of the investigation, Mazurov was sent to a pre-trial detention center, where he began to await the development of events in the case of the alleged large group fraud.
