Sending an international package is subject to additional restrictions. For example, there are a lot of bans on certain items, the list of which must be read in advance. In addition, you may need to fill out a customs declaration.
Instructions
Step 1
There are four types of international mail: parcel post, parcel, small packet and “M” bag. Determine which one is appropriate for your particular case. Printed publications, manuscripts, letters, photographs, etc. are sent by parcel post. The package is suitable for cultural and household items (things, books, documents) and may have a declared value.
Step 2
Small bag is suitable for small items or commercial samples. This type of shipment is used only for international shipment, but you need to make sure that the recipient country supports this type of shipment. A small package can be simple or customized.
Step 3
Bag "M" is used to send printed materials (correspondence) to the same addressee by one sender. The bag can be simple and with a declared value.
Step 4
Make sure the items or items you are shipping are not on the list of prohibited items. The complete list can be viewed on the post office website or read at the post office. Common to all types of mail is a ban on leaflets calling for terrorist or extremist activities, propaganda of Nazi symbols, photographs and other materials of a pornographic nature, explosive substances, cutting objects, weapons, drugs, etc.
Step 5
Please note that sending an international parcel will require additional accompanying documentation, filling out a customs declaration. The basic set is the Dispatch Form and the Customs Declaration No. 23.
Step 6
On the Dispatching Address form, fill in the details of the sender and the recipient, if necessary, indicate the value of the parcel, and on the reverse side you can give instructions on what to do with the shipment if the recipient does not appear for it.
Step 7
Customs declaration No. 23 is filled in for parcels and small packages of commercial content (goods or samples of goods). In the declaration, give a complete description of the enclosed goods separately, the number of identical items, weight, value, currency, country of origin code and the presence of a license or certificate.
Step 8
Attach the completed declaration document to the outside of the parcel or package, or enclose it in a transparent self-adhesive bag. The document must be completed in the language accepted in the recipient country, the universal languages are French and English.
Step 9
Additional accompanying documents are the Inventory of Attachments and the Receipt of Return, which are used mainly by organizations or businesses.
