Biography
Childhood
Boris Stepanovich Ryabinin was born in the Ural city of Kungur on November 3, 1911. His father worked as a land surveyor. Grandfather was a well-known shoemaker throughout the city, he spent all his time at work, showing little Boris an example of hard work. Mother and grandmother were busy with the housework, planted flowers, looked after animals, of which there were many in the house.
The father often took his son to the village, where there was also a small farm. It was here that the boy's reverent love for nature, a careful attitude to all living things, was born. Several dogs, cats, a goat, a cow, a horse lived in the house, which everyone in the family loved without exception. But grandfather was especially kind to the younger brothers, he often told the boy about their habits. Animals were constant participants in all childish games, which was later reflected in the first stories of Boris.
The beginning of creativity
Boris did not intend to become a writer, nevertheless he was fond of drawing and writing, setting out his impressions and views on paper. At the age of 13, he put all his notes together and published a family magazine, which contained both poems and stories. The magazine was called "Golden Childhood" and was colorfully illustrated by the author himself.
Education
At the request of his parents, Boris graduated from the Perm Land Management College. Soon the family moved to Sverdlovsk, and the young man decided to enter the Ural Mechanical Engineering Institute, graduated from it in absentia and acquired another profession - mechanical engineer.
Career
Ryabinin worked for several years as a topographer, headed an exploration party in construction and reclamation areas. He participated in the distribution of land to the Ural collective farms, made topographical survey of coal basins, calculated the area for Uralkhimmash. Passed student practice at Uralmashzavod.
Boris often had to travel around the country in connection with his work, and he tirelessly wrote down all his impressions, took pictures. This hobby dramatically changed the fate of Ryabinin, and soon he became a photojournalist for the Ural newspaper Izvestia. The first essays of the writer were published in Izvestia and in the journal Uralsky Sledopist.
Good books
The first book by Boris Ryabinin, published in 1936, was called "Stone Riddles". After the publication of the second book "My Friends", the writer became very popular not only in Russia, but also abroad.
Since childhood, Boris Stepanovich loved animals, especially dogs, but at some point in his life he became seriously interested in zoology, in particular cynology, and later called himself a zoologist. The writer realized in childhood, under the influence of the family structure, that animals are an integral part of human life and that they must be treated with care and understanding. In the book "My Friends" he wrote about his dogs - the huge Great Dane Jeri and the Airedale Terrier Snookki. The book is so interesting that it is impossible to come off her. She instantly found a lively response in millions of children's hearts. Letters flew from everywhere to Boris Stepanovich, in which children wrote about their love for four-legged pets and asked questions. The book can serve as a guide to cynology for novice dog breeders.
Boris Stepanovich wrote many more wonderful books about dogs.
The theme of nature conservation and love for animals became the main theme in the works of Boris Ryabinin. In his books, essays, articles, TV speeches, he called: "People, be kind! But good must be with fists. Help the weak - you will become strong!"
Ryabinin himself was a real fighter for the protection of nature, devoting the rest of his life to this cause. His works are not only cognitive, but also educational. Moreover, they act on the reader not in an edifying tone, but penetrating into the soul, sinking into the heart, remaining in the memory for life.
Personal life
The Ryabinin family was very friendly. Together with his wife Leokadia Semyonovna, a faithful friend and first assistant, they raised two wonderful sons.
Boris Stepanovich Ryabinin died in 1990. His widow, children and grandchildren currently live in Yekaterinburg. And, of course, their favorite dogs live with them.
