Long-term observations of the fate of outstanding personalities indicate that a person's talent does not guarantee a happy life. Alexander Knyazev is a famous Russian musician who bravely endures adversity on his way.
Starting conditions
Sometimes accidents have a decisive influence on the choice of life path. Although, according to astrologers, all events under the stars proceed according to the plan of the Higher Forces. You can treat such messages as you like, but the success story of Alexander Alexandrovich Knyazev can serve as an example of resilience in the face of the blows of circumstances. The famous musician was born on April 26, 1961 in a family of Soviet intellectuals. Parents lived in Moscow. My father was engaged in setting up equipment for X-ray diagnostics. The mother worked as a hematologist.
Parents, highly educated and cultured people, in their free time from their main work, attended theatrical performances. They were interested in music news. The house had a large collection of classical vinyl records. Alexander from an early age listened to the music of Brahms, Mozart and Tchaikovsky. At one point, the father brought his son to audition at the Gnessin Music School. After various tests and procedures, it turned out that the boy has perfect ear for music. At that time, he was only six years old, but this did not become an obstacle to admission to study.
Knyazev Jr. liked the way the piano sounds. However, vacancies remained only in the cello class. The father did not mind this change and the boy began to learn to play the "big violin". Both in a comprehensive school and in a music school, Alexander studied easily. Already at a young age, he mastered the technique of playing the instrument as a mature virtuoso. Practical confirmation of this is the first place at the 1977 All-Union competition in Vilnius. In 1979, having received a certificate of secondary education, Knyazev entered the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
It seemed that the career of a virtuoso performer would develop only along an increasing trajectory. But the trouble came from where she was not expected at all. Knyazev was diagnosed with a serious illness, which was accompanied by muscle atrophy. For several years he was bedridden. Official medicine representatives have formulated the most gloomy predictions. The fellow musicians expressed regret about the incident. But Alexander did not even think to give up. It took him almost five years to come back to life. He cannot even say for sure which remedy had a decisive effect: either the ritual of the Olkhon shaman, or the ointment from the Altai mumiyo.
Concert activities
The return to the stage took place calmly and without vulgar praise. Knyazev, in a duet with his wife, took part in the 1987 International Chamber Music Competition in Sicily. The jury unanimously awarded him the first prize. Alexander toured the country and did not miss the opportunity to participate in prestigious competitions. It is important to emphasize that he completely regained his coordination of movements and continued to expand his performing repertoire. At the Moscow festivals "December Evenings" and "Moscow Stars" Knyazev was out of competition.
While at a festival in Italy, the famous Russian musician heard and saw a real organ for the first time. And even tried to sit down at the keys. Returning to his homeland, Alexander, after a short period of time, went on an internship to Nizhny Novgorod. Here, at the local conservatory, they taught the technique of playing the organ. Since 2001, Knyazev has declared himself as an organist. This made it possible to significantly expand the performing repertoire. In this context, it is important to note that organs are installed only in large cultural centers, and even then not in all.
Tragic tour
Alexander's personal life was calm and stable. He met his beloved wife Ekaterina Voskresenskaya when he was a third-year student at the Moscow Conservatory. At that time, he was not in the best shape. The disease has not yet receded, but the first signs of recovery have appeared. Katya, herself a talented pianist, fell in love with Knyazev for his outstanding abilities. They could sit in a room with an instrument for days on end and talk, improvise, fantasize, make plans and castles in the air.
In 1984, their daughter Anastasia was born. Husband and wife doted on their girl. Over time, she will also receive a musical education and become a famous pianist. Knyazev, after a complete recovery, performed a duet with Catherine for several years. They were invited to perform in the best halls in Europe and America. In the spring of 1994, Russian musicians toured South Africa. When moving from one city to another, there was a head-on collision of cars. Catherine died on the spot. Alexander was hospitalized for a year and a half.
Second half of life
Relatives, friends and acquaintances still do not understand where Alexander got the strength to return to normal life. He did not want to live without his Katya. I just didn't want to. I didn't see the point. But time hears the deepest wounds. He completely gave up alcohol. Returned to my daily routine. And he began to go on stage.
A few years later, he was introduced to a young girl named Jannet, a Turkish woman who also studied music. Anastasia, the eldest daughter, was not against a new marriage. Today, the spouses have a younger daughter, Alexander.
