Our hero boldly declares that he is ready to combine the Russian traditions of photography with the rich world experience and present a new masterpiece to the world. More than once his work has received the highest appraisal at competitions in different countries of the world. By his own admission, these achievements made him more picky and demanding of himself.

Childhood

Volodya was born in December 1988. His family lived in Moscow, and the boy's life was no different from the everyday life of many Moscow schoolchildren. His childhood fell on dysfunctional years, when the number of institutions that were engaged in extracurricular work with children was rapidly declining. The child showed interest in beauty, but did not try to master painting, or sculpture.

An accidental purchase helped Medvedev find himself in the art world. In 2004, the teenager bought a camera. Before this unit, he did not even have a soap dish, which many loved to shoot their friends with. The novelty had to be experienced. The guy chose wildlife as the object of the experiment. His family and friends liked his first photographs.

High start

2 years after the test of the pen, the young man was lucky to get to Mongolia. Here he was fascinated by unusual landscapes, outlandish inhabitants of the steppes and the life of nomads. He captured all this on film. Arriving home, Vladimir learned about the Golden Turtle photography competition, dedicated to ecology and the environment. The guy sent the three best shots to the specified address and became the winner in the "Youngest Wildlife Photographer" nomination. After such a successful debut, he takes part in this event every year.

Now our hero was able to decide on the choice of a profession - he began to make a career as a photo artist. In 2007, the young man tried himself as a TV operator of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, but expeditions with a camera attracted him more, and in 2014 the choice was made in favor of the latter. Vladimir returned to Mongolia several times, in 2011 he visited Canada and Iceland. In 2014, Canon invited Medvedev, armed with their equipment, to make a sortie into the megalopolises of Russia in order to find corners of wildlife there. The famous photographer was happy to support this idea. The native Muscovite has long wanted to work in the parks and squares of his native city.

Overcoming obstacles

Winning contests for nature photographers, festivals and meetings with colleagues forced Medvedev to reconsider his attitude to his own skill level. He is constantly improving his style by educating himself and observing how recognized professionals work.

The main problem that the young man faced when reaching a wide audience was the differences in ideas about exoticism in different countries. Medvedev grew up at a time when foreign scientific and educational programs began to appear on Russian screens. For the citizens of the former USSR, everything was new there, and today Russians tend to highly appreciate any shot that is taken abroad. In the West, the situation is completely different. It is more difficult to impress the critics who live there. Vladimir is trying to combine the interesting developments of Russian masters of photography with the highest demands of world journalism.

Achievements

Vladimir Medvedev's contribution to the popularization of tourist routes in regions with a temperate climate is undeniable. The photographer prefers flat landscapes. He has a series of pictures from Canada where mountains are captured, but he calls the Russian and Mongolian steppes his favorite sites. The camera artist presents his masterpieces at author's exhibitions, the first of which took place in 2010, in books. In 2013, the most unusual presentation of a photo of our master took place - his works were sent to the International Space Station.

Among the awards our hero received were 4 prizes of the "Golden Turtle" competition. In 2016, Medvedev was invited to the event as one of the jury members. He noted that he is glad to be among the respected husbands who make important decisions. For this, I had to give up the role of a participant in the competition. In 2012, Vladimir received a special award at the global Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, and in 2018 he became a laureate of Vicky Loves the Earth.

Future plans

This guy never got star fever. He hides his personal life from overly curious citizens, whether he has a wife or a lover. Fans can only get acquainted with the professional side of Medvedev's life, his creative biography and expedition routes. The author of popular photographs encourages his admirers not to hesitate to photograph the world around him. Everyone can make a good shot on their own. According to Vladimir, photography is the most democratic form of art that requires a minimum of special skills and a maximum of enthusiasm.
