Do you regularly receive messages with a request to call back, but are afraid that the call will cost you too much, since the number is not familiar to you and the subscriber may be in another region? Or just out of curiosity, want to determine the location of the subscriber? This will not be difficult, since all phones, including mobiles, have their own geographic location, indicated by the area code.
It is necessary
- - a computer or communicator with an Internet connection
- - addresses of sites of reference systems
- - geographic atlas or addresses of sites with interactive maps (in case you intend to clarify the location of the settlement on the map in the future)
Instructions
Step 1
Carefully analyze the number displayed on the display of your phone. Please note that the first 1-3 digits displayed are the country code first. (For example, the code of the Russian Federation is the number "7"). The country code is usually preceded by a "+" sign or numbers "8-10". The next digits are the telephone area code. The codes of regional centers consist of 3 digits, and all other settlements - of 5. Of these, the first 3 digits are the area code and the remaining 2 are the area code. When writing, as a rule, the locality code is enclosed in parentheses. The regional affiliation of a mobile number can be determined by the first 6 digits following the country code.
Step 2
Rewrite or memorize the code of the desired city.
Step 3
Go to the help site page. Find on the page a rectangular window for entering the area code (as a rule, it has the appropriate signature). Enter the digits of the code there. Be careful when entering. Next to the window for entering numbers, find the search button (it will have a corresponding inscription or a magnifying glass image). Click on this button by clicking the left mouse button. Review the information received. If necessary, try again using a different combination of numbers.
Step 4
Find the city on the map (if you like). If you are using a paper atlas, then after the city name there will be indicated the pages of the atlas on which the given settlement is indicated, as well as a combination in the form of "letter-number". Open the indicated page and look for numbers and letters in the fields of the card. Among them, find the number and letter indicated in the alphabetical index and mentally draw lines through them. The desired city should be indicated on the map in the area where these lines intersect. When searching for a city on interactive maps, enter the name of the city in the window provided for this and also click on the search button with the left mouse button.
