Nikolai Maksimovich was born in mid-May 1952. It was in the Bryansk region, in the village of Yalovko, a young man who did not grow up in the city knew perfectly the basis of peasant labor.

It is also natural that Nikolai entered the Agricultural Academy after school. He received his higher education and the title of agronomist with a diploma in 1982.

The young specialist was hired by a pilot farm, where he worked for 6 years. During this time, his career has been very successful. The specialist has grown from an agronomist to a director of an experimental farm.

In 1988, Belous entered the postgraduate study at a research institute, which was engaged in soil science and conducted research in the field of fertilizers.

In parallel, Nikolai Maksimovich continues to work. Practice, knowledge and dedication helped the future honored scientist to defend his doctoral dissertation. In it, he deeply investigated the problem of radioactively contaminated lands in the south-west of Russia, and their rehabilitation.

The research works of the scientist made a great contribution to the solution of the issue of returning the lands affected by the Chernobyl accident to economic use.

The Belous team solves the problem of radioactive contamination of territories together with scientists from different countries. Among them are representatives of Norway, England, Canada, France, Japan.

To date, the scientist has 400 recommendations and articles that have been published both in Russia, the CIS countries, and abroad.

In 2001, Nikolai Maksimovich became a laureate of the agrochemical competition, which is held annually. Here they choose the best agrochemist among scientists who have devoted their activities to this branch of the economy.

A year later, Whitebeard received the title of professor. He also helps other scientists in their research. So, under his supervision, 17 graduate students became candidates, and 7 people were awarded the high title of doctors of science.

From 2003 to the present day, the professor is the rector of the Agricultural Academy of the city of Bryansk, which he graduated from.

Nikolai Maksimovich was repeatedly elected a deputy of the Duma in the Bryansk region. And at the end of the 20th century, he was the chairman of the committee for emergency situations, ecology, and Chernobyl issues.

The professor has made not only a great contribution to solving problems in this area, but also carries out a great political work. He holds the post of deputy secretary of the United Russia party in his regional office.
