Patrick Dempsey was born on January 13, 1966 in Lewiston, Maine. When Patrick was still a child, his family moved to the city of Bookfield, where he received his school education. At the age of ten, Patrick became interested in the circus, and he went to study in the appropriate studio. Thanks to his studies, Patrick became an excellent juggler and a wonderful magician. When he was 15 years old, he became one of the participants in the international juggling competition. According to the results of the competition, he was awarded the second place. The championship was taken from him by Anthony Gatto, who later appeared in the Guinness Book of Records, and was also recognized as the best magician in US history.
Dempsey said that in childhood he was diagnosed with dyslexia, which is why the path to most of the professions was closed to him. This was one of the reasons why he chose the creative path in life. Dempsey's first acting job was a role in the play "Torch Song Trilogy", in 1981. After which he did not give up this business, and continued to play in the theater.
Actor career
In 1985, just four years after his theater debut, Patrick Dempsey hits the silver screen. But his role was so small that it did not give his name a place even in the credits. Having played a huge number of not the most important roles, Patrick still achieved a central role in the comedy "Love Can't Buy". Further, in the flesh until the 1990s, he played in similar films. But in the end, Dempsey decided to leave this genre of cinema, and devoted himself to drama, where he did not find success. This led to the fact that until the end of the decade the actor played in low-budget films, and played supporting roles.

In the 2000s, Dempsey played in many films of various genres, but the image of Dr. Shepard in the series Grey's Anatomy brought him great fame. For this role, he received a Screen Actors Guild Award, and other film festival nominations. In 2015, the contract with the ABC channel was terminated, and Dr. Shepard was killed, brutally and in cold blood. In 2011, “Transformers. The Dark Side of the Moon”, where Patrick was the first in the history of the film franchise, a representative of the human race, who took the side of alien evil.
Race car driver
In 2004, Dempsey moved into professional sports. The choice was auto racing. Competitions in high-speed cars captivated him so much that he even began to think about leaving the acting profession. But, as we know, he did not, and his employment in cinema did not interfere with his participation in American and European competitions at all. Patrick even assembled his Dempsey Racing team to compete with the renowned professional teams from the Le Mans racing series. In 2015, Dempsey took silver, and before that he smiled at the audience several times from the podium.
The actor left the sport in 2017. He put an end to his racing career with the sportsman Mark Webber in a commercial for Porche.
Personal life
For the first time, Dempsey's wedding ceremony took place at the age of 21. His heart chose the actress Rocky Parker, who was a little older than her young husband, at the time of the wedding her age was 48 years old. Rocky already had an adult son, actor Corey Parker. And after the wedding, Patrick and Corey became best friends. For a while, Parker was her husband's manager, and after 7 years of marriage, Rocky and Patrick divorced.
Patrick's second wife was make-up artist and makeup artist Jill Fink, they got married in 1999. Now they have three children and they are still together. However, in 2015 there was a possibility of divorce, but the couple reconciled and in 2016 the divorce was canceled.
