Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and People's Artist of Moldova - Svetlana Fomicheva (Toma is a pseudonym from a French great-grandmother; the surname is pronounced with an accent on the second syllable) - is a multifaceted actress, behind whom there are currently fifty-six films. She is better known to a wide audience for her character as the gypsy Rada in the legendary Soviet film Tabor Goes to Heaven (1976).
The fiery symbiosis of the Jewish zootechnician Andrei Fomichev and the fierce communist Russian Ides Sukhoi became the logical reason for the birth of a very distinctive and bright movie star. Among the ancestors of Svetlana Toma, who played the title role of a beautiful gypsy woman, there are also Hungarians and Austrians, but it is precisely, having embodied in a character representing a freedom-loving people who hunt horse stealing, she most accurately conveyed the atmosphere that reigned in this exotic culture.
Short biography of Svetlana Toma
On May 24, 1947, the future Soviet film star was born on Moldovan soil. Since childhood, the girl was brought up in a very strict atmosphere of order and discipline, and therefore prepared for the profession of an investigator or lawyer. After receiving a certificate of secondary education, Svetlana entered the University of Chisinau at the Faculty of Law.
But, as always happens with talented people, fate intervened, which changed the life of the future actress. Caught in the eye of director Emil Lotyan, the girl was already doomed to a creative career. Even the refusal at the first meeting at the trolleybus stop did not help, because the master had already seen the colorful characters of his films in a beautiful and sophisticated brunette. By the way, Emil also strongly recommended changing the surname from Fomicheva to Tom, who played a very important role in Svetlana's life.
Her film debut took place on the set of the film "Red Glades" (1966). And Svetlana Toma acquired a multi-million army of fans after the release of the legendary film of the Soviet era "Tabor Goes to Heaven" (1976), where she very talentedly played the role of the gypsy Rada.

Personal life of the artist
Despite the two official marriages behind Svetlana Toma's shoulders and the appearance of a daughter in the first of them, she still considers Emil Loteana to be the main man in her life. The working relationship with him very soon turned into a romantic one, which lasted for ten years. And even after breaking up, she constantly felt support from her former lover.
The first time Svetlana got married in 1969 to her colleague in the creative department, Oleg Lachin. In this marriage, a daughter, Irina, was born, who later followed in the footsteps of her mother. However, the husband died when the child was not yet a year old.
The second husband of the actress for five years was Andrei Vishnevsky, but this family union was not destined to become eternal.
