The old Soviet school actor Vladislav Strzhelchik was born in Petrograd in 1921.

For his artistic life, he earned the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR in 1954, People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1965, People's Artist of the USSR in 1974.

As a child, Vladislav spent the day and slept in the drama club, preparing for his future profession.

After leaving school, he was accepted into the studio of the Bolshoi Drama Theater, and a little later he was already in the troupe of this theater. However, two years later, the Great Patriotic War began, and the future artist fought in the infantry unit, and also participated in concerts with concert brigades.

After the war, Vladislav returned to his native theater, and served there all his life. He became a very popular actor: the audience said that they were going to the theater "on Strzhelchik".

Since 1959, Vladislav Ignatievich worked as a teacher at the Leningrad Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, he worked there for 10 years, then headed the Department of Musical Directing of the Leningrad Institute of Culture, and since 1974 he headed the Department of Musical Directing here.

Film career

Best of all, the famous actor succeeded in the roles of nobles, generals, princes and kings: his magnificent posture, ability to wear uniforms and lordly appearance were inimitable. Most often, Vladislav Ignatievich played Nicholas I ("The Third Youth", "Green Carriage", "Dream"). And he also succeeded in the image of Napoleon and Russian princes.

All-Union fame Strzhelchik brought the painting "Adjutant of His Excellency" - here he embodied the image of General Kovalevsky.

In total, the actor played more than eighty roles in the cinema, in the theater - about thirty.

The most characteristic feature of Vladislav Strzhelchik's life is constancy. He lived all his life in the same city, served in the same theater and was faithful to one woman.

Personal life

The wife of Vladislav Ignatievich is Shuvalova Lyudmila Pavlovna, also an actress and director of the BDT. About her meeting with her future husband, she says that their lives "collapsed the moment we met."

Moreover, their acquaintance was accidental - they met in Sochi, and it was a resort romance. No one expected anything from this, but soon Vladislav and Lyudmila realized how they really relate to each other.

Lyudmila threw everything that she had in Moscow and moved to Vladislav in Leningrad, she was hired at the BDT. At first it was hard - the life of the artists is difficult and poor, but the young family lived amicably, intellectually and creatively, as befits young artists. We read a lot, discussed, talked with friends. They toured a lot in Russia, made new friends.

Once Vladislav Ignatievich told his wife that he loved her very much, but still the main thing for him was the theater. And until the last days, as long as he could, he was on stage.

Vladislav Strzhelchik died on September 11, 1995, at the age of 74, was buried in St. Petersburg.

For military merits, Vladislav Ignatievich was awarded the Medal for the Defense of Leningrad and the Medal for Military Merit, and in peacetime he received more than ten different awards, including the highest: the title of Hero of Socialist Labor and the Order of Lenin.
