When drawing up various documents of citizens of the Russian Federation, a separate line is increasingly allocated to indicate the TIN - the taxpayer identification number. TIN is a personal number of a person, which is assigned to him at the offices of the Federal Tax Service at his place of residence and is confirmed by a certificate of registration with the tax authority. Each taxpayer can receive a TIN. Consider the issue of obtaining it by an individual.
First, be clear about what is behind this number. It is known that its introduction caused misunderstanding and even resistance among a part of the country's population. Meanwhile, identification of a person with the help of TIN is in no way a fact of intrusion into a person's private life. The number is not associated with personal information (marital status, family ties, other personal relationships). The use of the TIN does not replace the citizen's name with this digital code, since the name, patronymic, surname are indicated in any documents, regardless of the reference to the TIN. This identification number, moreover, cannot be a substitute for the name given at birth (baptism).
The taxpayer identification number (TIN) serves primarily for the primary purpose of the tax authorities - accounting for information on the income of a particular individual. This information is needed to assess the amounts to be taxed, and then to control the payment of taxes (land tax, property tax, income tax, and so on).
Taxpayer identification number - an individual is a twelve-digit digital code. It consists of: the code of the tax authority that assigned the TIN (4 characters), the serial number of the entry about the person in the unified state register of taxpayers (6 characters), a special control number (2 characters).
