Speaking in front of an audience often creates excitement for the speaker. I would like to show myself and my work in the best possible light, to interest the audience, to make sure that the report is liked. Using a few simple techniques can help you make your presentation more interesting and keep you focused.
Hard work
You worked hard, prepared for the performance, worried. You can say that you have done the hard work, and the audience is having a rather idle time. However, listening to information is also difficult - yet most people absorb it much better from books or videos. Try to keep your talk as simple as possible. If a term can be replaced with a lighter synonym, do it. Material that is understandable in the form of an article can cause difficulties when trying to assimilate from an audio source.
I saw it too
Refer to places, sources and events that are most likely to be familiar to your audience. Mention the fact that you learned from the popular program in the morning, tell us what you saw in the city park, make a reference to the news that received widespread publicity. This will revitalize the part of the audience that is also aware of what you are talking about, and the knowledgeable, in turn, will stir up ignorant neighbors. Tell an interesting fact about the hall or audience in which the lecture is taking place, draw the attention of the audience to the portraits of famous personalities hanging on the walls, or just tell them how good the weather is outside the window.
Personal experience
Personal experience as a speaker is a good way to grab the attention of the public. If you can illustrate a statement with an example from your life or from the life of your friends, this will make it easier for the audience to understand the report. However, this method should not be overused. If half of your speech is about your military service, your children or your dog, you will lose the audience.
Visual aids
If possible, distribute visual aids to participants. These can be graphs illustrating the growth of enterprise productivity, pictures of new devices for the installation of which you are campaigning for at the enterprise, beautiful photographs of the city you are talking about. First, this will make it easier to understand the material. Secondly, people are usually pleased to take something away as a keepsake of an event, even if it will soon be sent to the trash can.
Humor
But humor - at first glance, a sure way to attract attention - should be used very carefully. Otherwise, you may be considered a joker, while a reputation for being a good speaker would be enough. If you still cannot resist telling a joke, do it towards the end of the talk, when you and the audience have already gotten closer together. When choosing a joke, try to be as correct as possible and avoid ambiguity so as not to inadvertently offend anyone.
