Biography

Niccolo Ammaniti was born on September 25, 1966 in Italy, on the outskirts of the capital city of Rome, in the family of the famous Italian psychologist and scientist Massio Amanti. After leaving school, Niccolo entered the State National University of Natural Sciences at the Faculty of Biology, but due to the fact that the student wrote a failed graduation work, Niccolo Ammaniti was expelled. Having never received an education, the young man gets a job in a psychological laboratory, where he becomes an assistant to his father. There, for the first time, he decides to take up writing. The knowledge gained during his studies at the university gives rise to his first experience in writing his own book.

Literary creativity

In 1993 Niccolo Ammanti published his first novel about the unfortunate fate of a terminally ill boy. The book, which was released in a huge circulation in a famous publishing house, brings him his first success. Based on the novel, a film adaptation was made. However, the film based on this work was a failure. Psychological drama does not impress the audience.

Two years later, the aspiring writer publishes, together with his father, a project - a psychological essay "In the name of a child." In 1996, in collaboration with the Italian actress Lucia Brancaccio, a collection of small literary stories with the general title "The Cannibal of Youth" was published. In the next four years, Niccolo Ammaniti published several more collections and individual works. However, all of them do not bring the writer the fame he deserves. Despite this circumstance, Niccolo Ammaniti continues to write.

Success, career and awards

In 2002, the long-awaited success came to the Italian author. After the release of the exciting film novel "I'm Not Afraid", based on his work of the same name, on the big screens, the writer was awarded the prize of the great Italian screenwriter Ennio Flyano. Several subsequent novels again brought him well-deserved awards and prizes. Among them is one of the most prestigious Italian awards - "For the best piece of art in Italian". To date, the writer is in the process of writing his seventeenth work.

Personal life of the writer

In his personal life, Niccolo Ammaniti considers himself to be a very happy person. He met his only love as a grown man, at the age of 39. In 2005, the charming theater and film actress Lorenza Indovin became his wife. The spouses have been married for more than ten years. Despite the absence of children, the creative couple is quite happy with their family life.
