According to Rosstat, as of January 1, 2018, the number of officials in Russia exceeded 2 million. Although, there is an opinion that even Rosstat is very difficult to count the exact number of people belonging to this category. However, among such a huge number of civil servants, there were and are interesting people. It will be about an equally interesting person, in the past - a statesman, Sergei Aleksashenko.
Formation of personality
Sergey Vladimirovich Aleksashenko, the future Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, was born on December 23, 1959. Born, by the way, in a family of engineers, in Likino-Dulyovo, in the Moscow region. However, he spent the first 25 years of his life in the city of Zhukovsky (which is 54 km from Likino-Dulyovo), where his parents worked for a long time in the aviation industry (since Zhukovsky, as you know, is closely associated with this economic industry).
Sergey is, no less, a candidate of economic sciences (all thanks to the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University). For a long time, Sergei Vladimirovich lived and worked in Moscow.
If you plunge into the details of his career, then it is worth noting that it was quite diverse and Sergei Aleksashenko was clearly not afraid of work. He had a chance to work in the Council of Ministers of the USSR, and in the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, as well as in the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the Higher School of Economics and many other places.
It will not be superfluous to mention that Aleksashenko was a member of the political party RPR-PARNAS.
Work at the Central Bank
For almost three years, Aleksashenko served as Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Russia. Sergey Vladimirovich left his post in 1998. One of the most memorable moments during his career at the Central Bank of the Russian Federation was the market for government short-term bonds (better known as GKOs). By the way, the decision on the subsequent default (which happened in August 1998) was made, among other things, by Aleksashenko.
According to some reports, for three years of work at the Central Bank, Sergei Aleksashenko received income from operations on the market of those very government bonds.
Personal life
If we talk about the personal life of Sergei Aleksashenko, it is known that he has a wife, Ekaterina, and three sons. By the way, Sergey's wife is a teacher of the Russian language by education, is engaged in a children's theater studio in a boarding school, and also leads various charitable projects aimed at helping children.
The two eldest sons live in the United States.
The neighbor's grass is greener
Sergei Aleksashenko repeatedly left Russia, but returned to it with the same frequency. Despite this, today Aleksashenko lives in Washington.
And at the end of August 2017, the media reported that Aleksashenko was involved in the smuggling of state awards (medals and orders) directly through Domodedovo airport (by the way, Sergei was on the board of directors of Aeroflot for some time) to the States.
In conclusion, I would like to note that Sergei Aleksashenko is a person with a rather boring biography.
How Sergey lives in the USA and whether he will ever return to Russia, time will tell.
