Childhood, adolescence
Oleg Valerianovich was born on September 26, 1934. The family lived in Moscow, his father was the director of the polytechnic school of communications, his mother became a doctor of philological sciences. Oleg had a half-brother George, he disappeared during the war. The family also had grandfather and grandmother. Oleg's grandmother was a very domineering person, she actively participated in raising children.
During the war, the family was evacuated to Tbilisi, where Oleg contracted tuberculosis. In 1943, they resumed living in the capital. Oleg went to school, did not study very well, did not like mathematics.
Basilashvili became interested in theater, often attended performances and decided to study acting. He attended a troupe under the Ministry of Foreign Trade. After school, Oleg entered the Moscow Art Theater, where he studied on the course of Massalsky Paul.
Creative biography
After their studies, Basilashvili and his wife Doronina Tatiana were assigned to the Stalingrad drama theater, but after 3 months they quit their jobs and moved to Leningrad.
The couple got a job at "Lenkom", but then transferred to the BDT. Doronina received an invitation from Georgy Tovstonogov, she asked that her husband also be hired. However, Oleg got the role of minor characters, and his wife soon became the leading actress.
In 1956, Basilashvili appeared in the movie "Bride", this was his first film work. Then there was a ten-year break. It ended when the actor was invited to the main role in the movie "Eternal Call".
In that period, they began to give Oleg interesting roles in the theater, he played, as a rule, comedic characters. During his time at the BDT, Basilashvili participated in many plays, there were almost 50 of them.

The first wife of Oleg Valerianovich is Doronina Tatiana, a classmate. They got married in their third year, the marriage lasted 8 years. They did not have children.
Then Basilashvili married Mshanskaya Galina, who was a journalist. In 2011, they celebrated their golden wedding. The couple had daughters Ksenia and Olga. In 2013, the grandson Timofey, the son of Xenia, was born.
