Silva Anderson is a famous Brazilian mixed fighter. From 2006 to 2013, he held the UFC middleweight championship belt. The fans gave him the nickname "Spider" for his high tenacity.
Biography: early years
Anderson da Silva was born on April 14, 1975 in Sao Paulo. Immediately after his birth, the family moved to Curitiba, in the very south of Brazil. There he grew up and became involved in the martial arts. He has a special relationship to this city. In many interviews, the fighter says that his homeland is Curitiba, not Sao Paulo.
Anderson grew up a very active child, was a fidget. To channel his energy into a peaceful channel, his parents began to take him to sports sections. He played football, athletics. In adolescence, he became interested in wrestling. At the age of 14, Anderson began to attend the taekwondo section. Four years later, he rose to the black belt.
Silva later took up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. For this single combat, he also has a black belt. He received it from the hands of the famous Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. They will subsequently jointly open the Team Nogueira MMA Academy in Miami.
Anderson trained professionally at the Chute Boxe Academy. He later founded his own organization, the Muay Thai Dream Team.
Career
Silva's first professional fight took place in June 1997. It was hosted by the BFC. Silva then defeated Raimund Pinheira. On the same evening, he knocked out Fabriceo Camões.
Silva started his first MMA fights in 2000. Then he was part of the Mecca organization. The debut fight was miserably lost to teammate Luis Azered. Silva ended the next two fights with a knockout victory. His opponents were Jose Barreto and Claudinora Fontinellier.
This was followed by a series of brilliant victories. In 2001, under the auspices of the Japanese organization Shooto, Silva won his first championship belt. Three years later, he became the Cage Rage champion.
In 2006, Silva won the title of the most influential fighting organization in the UFC. He held this title for eight years. In 2013, followed by a loss to Chris Weidman. In the same year, Silva was convicted of doping.
In 2019, Silva had two fights. And they both ended in defeat for him. In February, the Brazilian lost to Israel Adesanya from New Zealand, and in May to American Jared Cannonier. Silva did not despair, he continues to train and hopes for bright victories.
Personal life
Silva Anderson is married. He is the head of a large family. Together with her, the fighter is raising five children. In July 2019, Silva received American citizenship. The family has been living in the States for the past ten years. In Los Angeles, Silva has her own home.
