Biography

The future athlete was born in May 1971 on the twenty-fifth in the small Russian city of Saransk. From an early age, the boy loved to play sports, especially he liked to play football. Looking at the successes of the Soviet national football team, little Marat dreamed that someday he would also become a real athlete and win various trophies. The parents were glad that their son was very interested in sports, and pinned great hopes on him. There was no outstanding football academy in Saransk, and Marat was enrolled in the "Lighting Engineering" section, which would later become the basis of FC "Mordovia".

Marat trained long and hard, took part in all kinds of regional competitions, won various trophies. At the national championship, he first appeared in 1987. He played for the main team of Lighting Engineering. In total, he appeared five times on the field during the season. At the end of the year, he was announced for FC Fakel from Saransk, where he spent the rest of the season and the beginning of a new one. In 1989 he returned to Svetotekhnika. Having gained experience, he took a place in the starting lineup and appeared on the field forty-five times during the season.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the career of the promising footballer Mustafin collapsed. He spent the nineties in the amateur championships of the region, playing for various teams. In 2000, he decided to end his playing career and try himself in something else.

In the same year, he appeared as a referee for the matches of the second division. He played 15 matches as a side referee and once appeared on the field as the main judge. Mustafin did not find himself in the refereeing field and decided to take up coaching.

Until 2005, he worked at the Mordovia Sports Academy, where he worked with children. Later he was transferred to the second line-up of the main team. At the end of the 2000s, Mustafin was appointed head coach of FC Mordovia. At first, it was argued that he was acting as head coach, while the club's functionaries were looking for a worthy replacement. In 2016 he was transferred to the youth squad, where he worked for only one year. Since 2017, he again took over as head coach at the club and continues to work there ever since.

Personal life

Marat Fyaridievich is a man of business, he is completely immersed in work and practically does not give interviews. Its maximum is pre-match press conferences, which usually do not talk about family and personal life. He more than compensates for the unsuccessful gaming experience with coaching. Despite the fact that his club is not famous and there are not enough stars from the sky, people in the republic love and respect him very much.
