Talent, hard work and beauty allowed her to achieve incredible heights in her career. But his personal life was not quite successful.
Via Fritsevna Artmane is considered one of the most popular actresses in the USSR. She starred in the following films: "Theater", "The Arrows of Robin Hood" and "Andromeda Nebula". In 1969, she was even able to receive the title of People's Artist of the USSR.
Vija was born in the summer of 1929, in a small village in Latvia. The girl grew up in a complete family, her parents were ordinary working peasants, moreover, of Polish-German origin. The actress's father, unfortunately, died many years ago, before the birth of his daughter. For this reason, the mother was engaged in raising the girl for many years.
If we talk about Wiya's childhood, it was incredibly difficult and sometimes hopeless. Her mother, Anna Zaborskaya, decided to get married a second time, but her husband began to behave rudely and drank constantly. And in principle it turned out to be cruel. Because of this, Anna hid from him for a long time along with her little daughter. The future actress had to learn how to make money from childhood. At the age of 10 she was taken as a shepherdess to a very wealthy neighbors.
Education and career
Five years later, she transferred to another school, and a capital one. Vija's classmate and best friend was Uldis agata, who later became the leading choreographer. From the very beginning, Viya dreamed of studying to be a lawyer, she was very worried about the topic of injustice in the world. But later it turned out that the wonderful backstage world and acting on stage suited her much better. As soon as the war ended, she entered the studio at the Art Theater. It was at that time that a young and incredibly talented girl decided to change her real name. In fact, her name is Alida.
At first she was given roles from the classical repertoire. As soon as she took place as a theatrical actress, the girl began to be invited to film in a movie. All the films in which Via took part received recognition from viewers and film critics, but real popularity came to her later. The film "Native Blood", which tells about the tragedy of two lovers and elderly people, became the key in the career of the actress.
Personal life of the actress
Vija chose a Latvian actor named Artur Dimiters as her husband. She was not even embarrassed by their age difference. The fact is that the husband was older. Unfortunately, the actress did not find happiness in her personal life. Only children brought her real joy. The son became a very popular musician, and the illegitimate daughter became a talented illustrator.
Already in old age, Viya wrote books about her memories: "Heart in the palm", "Winter-hardy". When Latvian restitution was taking place, she was deprived of her apartment and expelled to live in a house in the country. Lack of finances had a significant impact on health. First, my legs began to hurt, and later my heart. But she lived for a very long time - up to 80 years. Before her death, the actress nevertheless converted to Orthodoxy.
A large number of documentaries were shot in her memory. She was loved by many, not only in the USSR, but also in other countries. And the films in which Viya starred are still very popular even among young people.
