The future theater and film actor was born in the capital of the USSR on December 12, 1950. In 1975, Alexander graduated from the Shchepkin Theater School. For many years he served in the capital's Hermitage Theater.

Pozharov was married twice. They parted with their first wife. She gave her husband two children. The second wife of Alexander Anatolyevich, Julia, is much younger than the actor. She is interested in ballet.
In 2016, the media learned that Pozharov had cancer. A year later, the actor underwent a successful operation, after which he underwent two courses of chemotherapy.
