Biography

Anton Vladimirovich Dolin was born in January 1976 into a family of intellectuals. Anton's mom Veronica Dolina is a Russian poet, bard. Stepfather - Alexander Muratov, screenwriter and film director. Has two brothers and a sister. All children in the family are bound by art. Mom had the greatest influence on Anton, determining his life priorities. There was always music in the house. This was one of the impetus for the young man to try himself in various pop and rock groups. In them, he not only played keyboards, but also became a co-author of music, words of songs.

In the first grade I read the book by Yuri Tomomin "An artist walked around the city." A tale about a boy who got a box of magic matches. She taught Anton a lot. He devoted enough time to books about knights. Fell in love with "Ivanhoe" by Walter Scott. The boy liked the work so much that he knew it by heart in large pieces.

After school he entered the Moscow State University. M. Lomonosov at the Faculty of Philology. In 1997 he successfully received his diploma, but he decided not to stop there, so by 2000 the dissertation "History of a Soviet tale-tale" was ready.

Anton Dolin himself notes that due to the small age difference with his mother (20 years), friendly relations have been formed. They read books together, went to museums. His father was an academic scientist, so he did not immerse himself too deeply in raising children.

The film critic does not hide his personal life - he is married to Natalya Khlyustova. I met my future wife at school. They have two children. The eldest son Mark, together with his father, takes part in programs on the radio "Mayak", the youngest son Oleg is an actor.

In 2013, Anton Dolin took part in the project Against Homophobia. A video message was recorded for him in support of the LGBT community. In it, he spoke out against the law prohibiting the promotion of homosexuality. A year later, the critic signed a letter from KinoSoyuz "We are with you!" It condemns Russia's interference in Ukrainian politics and expresses support for revolutionary sentiments in this country.

Since 1997, immediately after graduating from Moscow State University, Anton Dolin begins his journalistic career:

  • At first he worked at the radio "Echo of Moscow" as a correspondent and presenter.
  • From 2001 to 2005 he collaborated with the newspaper Gazeta. He was a regular film critic, and later became an editor at a culture hotel.
  • In 2006 he was appointed editor-in-chief at Vechernyaya Moskva.
  • Since 2010, Anton Vladimirovich has been working as a film reviewer for Vesti FM and Mayak radio.

In his programs he develops films that have become world classics. The journalist's knowledge turned out to be so deep that he was invited to work in such print media as Moskovskie Novosti, Vedomosti, Expert and others. As the best film critic in Russia, he got the opportunity to write a personal blog in the Snob magazine.

In 2013, the journalist begins to cooperate with the Afisha publication, for which a total of 129 reviews were written. Anton Dolin twice became a laureate of the Guild of Historians of Cinema and Film Critics of Russia for the book “Lars von Trier. Examination: Analysis, interviews. Dogville: A Screenplay”(2004) and“Herman: An Interview. Essay. Scenario.

You can see the film critic on the TV show "Evening Urgant". In it, Dolin talks about which films are worth watching and which are not. At first, he was skeptical about the information that it was necessary to meet in a few minutes. However, I quickly found the desired shape. Thanks to humorous phrases that can reach young people, he can tell which film is worth watching for a person who understands the taste of real cinema.

Since 2017, reviews have begun to appear in the online edition of Meduza. They are very short but succinct. Such cooperation seemed interesting to the journalist, so in the first year alone he analyzed 144 films.

Anton Dolin has written several books on cinema. Some of them were written long ago, but their relevance has not been lost to this day. Among the books:

New films of the Dales are watched regularly, but their number does not exceed 3-4 per week. The preference is given to European cinematography, but sometimes he looks over the results of the works of Chinese and American filmmakers.
