Currently Kazan is considered one of the most important centers of the Eurasian continent. We are not talking about the number of citizens living here or about industrial potential. The city concentrates around itself the cultural space of different countries and peoples. Historians, sociologists and politicians have yet to assess the importance of the capital for current and future civilizational processes. The city received a powerful impetus for development at a time when Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev was at the head of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to the registry entry, Mintimer was born on January 20, 1937 in a peasant family. All the boy's ancestors were engaged in agriculture and cattle breeding. For more than a quarter of a century, my father worked as the chairman of a collective farm. Shrewd sociologists believe that Shaimiev's biography could not have developed in another way. From a young age he was taught to work and to treat his elders with respect. All people, young and old, living in the district were engaged in agriculture. Mintimer did well at school. Having received a certificate of maturity, he entered the mechanical faculty of the Kazan Agricultural Institute without outside help. Student years flew by quickly, but left their mark on his fate. In his last year, Shaimiev underwent industrial practice in one of the regions of the republic. At the same time, a girl named Sakina came here to her parents after graduating from college. Love arose, as they say, at first sight. The young man did not hesitate for a long time and trusted his heart. The acquaintance took place calmly and decorously. The parents approved the choice of their son and blessed the young.
Mintimer Shaimiev married once and for the rest of his life. The husband and wife lived in perfect harmony. According to ancestral traditions, the head of the family was responsible for material well-being and for a healthy atmosphere in the house.
