Biography

Robert Allen Palmer was born on January 19, 1949 in England in the small town of Battle, which is located in the picturesque surroundings of Yorkshire. Until his majority, Robert lived in Malta. This is the island state of the Mediterranean Sea, where his parents brought him in infancy. As a child, the boy was fond of music, played several musical instruments and performed in front of the audience, performing his favorite jazz compositions. During his school years, Robert Palmer did not give up his musical passion, in addition to this, he began to draw well.

After graduating from secondary school, the young man decided to enter the art academy to study design art. However, the chosen profession bored him very quickly. Robert Palmer moves to London and joins one of the courtyard jazz groups.

Musical education

Participation in the work of the musical groups "The Alan Bown Set", "Dada", "Vinegar Joe" allowed the artist to gain experience and hone his skills. Robert Palmer studied various musical styles - soul, jazz, rhythm and blues. The young musician remained a member of the band for a year, after which he changed several more ensembles, until he decided to pursue a solo career.

Creativity and success

In 1974, Robert Palmer released his first solo album, but this disc does not bring much success. After long wanderings around the cities of America and attempts to record new musical compositions, in 1978, the musician comes to fame. The fateful fourth album becomes popular and is included in the top ten collections of jazz compositions. Without stopping his solo career and having released more than ten albums in 1996, Robert Palmer became a member of the popular British band "DURAN DURAN".

In 2003, the famous musician came to France to record his new LP and a solo jazz performance at the Paris Philharmonic. However, a tragic event happened - on September 26, Robert Palmer suddenly died of heart failure.

Personal life

In his personal life, the musician was a windy person. Having married for the first time in 1974 to Shelley Puthman, the young husband lived with his beloved, who bore him three children, only four years. The handsome musician did not remain a bachelor for long. A year after the divorce in 1979, Robert remarried.
