The future theater and film actor was born in Sverdlovsk on October 30, 1924. Vladimir's father was a candidate of historical sciences, he worked in the political department of the aviation school. Gulyaeva's mother was a teacher.

Since childhood, Volodya dreamed of the sky. At the age of 15, he enrolled in the flying club. The passion for flying came in handy for Gulyaev during the war. After the treacherous attack of the fascists on the USSR, Gulyaev, together with his peers, went to the military registration and enlistment office. But he was turned back there, since Volodya was not yet 17 years old.

Then Gulyaev went to work as a simple mechanic in an aviation workshop. A year later, he put on the uniform of an aviation school cadet. Vladimir got to the front in 1943 with the rank of junior lieutenant.

Gulyaev's second wife was also called Rimma. In this marriage, the couple had a daughter and a son. The third wife of Vladimir was Lucie Efimova.

In the 90s, Gulyaev almost did not act in films. The actor's health was undermined by military wounds, he was sick a lot. Vladimir Leonidovich passed away on November 3, 1997.
