A certain peasant from Tula, already half paralyzed due to an excessive addiction to alcohol, turned with a prayer to the Mother of God, depicted on it. After praying, he not only stopped experiencing alcohol cravings, but also began to move normally. The icon began to be considered miraculous and relieves of such vices as drug addiction, drunkenness, smoking. During the years of the Revolution and the Civil War, the original of this miraculous icon was lost, but found again and is now in a small monastery in the city of Serpukhov, near Moscow. In other churches there are lists from him, which are also called the "Inexhaustible Cup". It depicts the Mother of God, in front of which there is a bowl with the inscription "I am the true vine," from which the figure of the baby Jesus rises.
There are always a lot of people in the monastery church in the city of Serpukhov in front of the icon "Inexhaustible Chalice" - this is the last hope of alcoholics and drug addicts, their friends and relatives. They ask the Mother of God to help get rid of this addiction. By gaining faith in God, people acquire faith in themselves, which gives them the strength to stop destroying their lives and the lives of their relatives. This is a kind of miracle too, but who created it - an icon or a person's faith, it doesn't matter anymore.
Martyr Boniface of Rome
Boniface of Rome was a slave from birth and lived in the III century from the birth of Christ, he was distinguished by a cheerful disposition, was a reveler and a drunkard. He enjoyed the confidence of his mistress Aglaida and could dispose of her funds uncontrollably. Some of them he spent not only on partying and drinking, but also on helping disadvantaged people. After some time, faced with that stoicism and selfless faith that distinguished Christians, who were persecuted in Rome at that time, Boniface believed in Christ himself. After repenting and believing, he suffered a painful death. This saint is offered prayers for healing from drunkenness and fornication.
