Alexander Naumovich Mitta (Rabinovich) is a famous film director. Born on 1933-28-03 in Moscow. Surname Mitta - ancestral, belonged to relatives on the mother's side. Alexander was always proud that his family are Jews who support the October Revolution. In 1937, the quiet life came to an end - the mother and other relatives of the director were repressed. Some of them were shot.
After graduating from school, Alexander entered the art school. But after a while he was expelled - "non-standard". The young man does not despair and goes to study as an architect. His teacher is a great constructivist - K. Melnikov. In 1955, Mitta graduated from the Moscow Civil Engineering Institute. But then he went to work in cartoon magazines - "Crocodile", "Funny Pictures". By the way, it was there that he took a pseudonym - Mitta. In parallel, Alexander is studying at VGIK at the directing department. During this period, the young man is sure that his profession for life is a film director.
Cinematic creativity
Mitta got into the cinema six years later. Alexander and a friend have done their thesis "My friend, Kolka!" based on the play by the creator of the Yeralash newsreel Sasha Khmelik. The debut film suddenly became popular. It touched upon important social topics, and the tape was included in the 15 best films of the country for 1961. Then there were independent works: "Without fear and reproach", "They ring, open the door." The last picture received worldwide recognition, she was given the Golden Venetian Lion at the Children's Film Festival.
In 1969, Alexander played his first role in cinema - the withdrawn Vladik in the film "July Rain". After that, a new work came out - "Point, point, comma …", where Mitta also performed the work of the screenwriter. In this picture, again, there was a teenage theme, which the director was especially good at. She has received many Soviet and international awards.

The filmmaker's personal life was akin to his nature - exuberant. His wife Lilia Mayorov had to be taken away from the family. Her first husband tried to fight for her, but tender Lilya went to live in a small communal apartment with Sasha Mitta. Two years later, they had a son, Eugene. Later, the young managed to knock out an apartment in Moscow.
