The beauty of nature has been praised by poets and writers many times, songs and films have been made about it. Calls to take care of the world around you are heard quite often, but what does this mean in practice for an ordinary person?

Step 1

Nature has an enormous margin of safety. If not for its ability to renew and self-purify, humanity would have long been on the verge of extinction. Human economic activity causes enormous damage to nature - forests are cut down, water and air are polluted. Growing cities, paved highways, power lines, pipelines for pumping oil and gas are forcing the animal and plant world to squeeze in. Landfills around million-strong cities amaze the imagination - these are huge territories to which hundreds, thousands of tons of all kinds of waste are transported every day …

Step 2

Many people believe that little depends on them in preserving nature, because industry does the main damage to it. But there are many people on earth, therefore, in the aggregate, humanity is capable of causing irreparable damage to nature. If you have been in the forests near cities, you have probably seen the consequences of the rest of the townspeople - traces of fires, heaps of garbage, broken trees … It seems that it is not a big deal - throwing a candy wrapper or a crumpled pack of cigarettes. A trifle, a trifle. But there are a lot of people, so the mountains of garbage are growing rapidly.

Step 3

That is why it is so important to be aware of your own responsibility to the world around you. It is not so important what other people do - it is important how you do it. Do not throw trash, do not break trees, do not burn fires where the whole forest can flare up. Do not hunt birds and forest animals - now are completely different times, you hardly have to hunt for food. Why kill if you don't have to? Better take a camera - you will have wonderful photos as a keepsake of your visit to the forest.

Step 4

As you relate to the world, so does it relate to you. These are not unfounded statements - if a person treats nature with care, it pays him back. The world protects such a person, much of what happens to other people in nature does not happen to him. Remember the words from The Jungle Book - "You and I are of the same blood!" So it is - a person who sincerely loves nature enters into a very special system of relations with it. He is not touched by wild animals, the world reveals to such a person its most intimate secrets.

Step 5

It all starts small. Don't pick flowers in vain - they are alive. Don't break branches, don't throw rubbish. Bring love and beauty to the world, not anger and destruction. Explain to the children that you cannot shoot at sparrows with a slingshot, you cannot torture cats and dogs. Any aggression splashed out into the world will one day surely return to you, and this is also a law. Do not strive for great achievements and feats in the name of nature - do at least what is real in your power. If each person takes good care of his surroundings, the world will become cleaner and kinder.
