For a long time, it was believed that politics is the lot of men. For the female part of the population, the kitchen, the church and the family were allocated. The realities of today are far from patriarchal ideas. Sarah Wagenknecht, a well-known German journalist and member of the Bundestag, is an example of a modern woman.

Childhood

In the early 90s, Germany went through a process of reunification of the eastern and western territories. For the European establishment, this was a positive development. The citizens of the united state perceived integration ambiguously. The famous politician Sarah Wagenknecht was born in the summer of 1969 in the city of Jena, which was located on the territory of the German Democratic Republic. On formal grounds, the family was considered international. The mother was German, and the father was from Iran.

The girl mostly lived with her mother. This is not to say that the child did not know his father. It's just that Sarah didn't see him often. At the initial stage, the biography of the future politician was formed according to classical patterns. Sarah was on duty to stay with her grandparents, who lived in the village. Here, in a rural house, she received the foundations of upbringing, under the influence of which her worldview was formed. When it was time to get an education, her mother took her to her in Berlin.

Sarah studied well at the gymnasium. She actively participated in the social life of the educational institution. She showed interest in history and processes in society. She joined the German Youth Union. I watched how her peers live, what goals they set for themselves and what they dream about. It was in the gymnasium that Wagenknecht formed his views on the state structure and democratic mechanisms. After some trials and hesitation, she entered the famous University of Groninget, from which she graduated in 1996.

In the political arena

It is interesting to note that in her graduation work, Sarah Wagenknecht explored the work of Karl Marx at an early stage in his work. The work has attracted the attention of historians and sociologists. It was published as a separate book. Young and ambitious Wagenknecht continued research in this direction. At the same time, she was engaged in political activities. In 1999 she was elected as the representative to the European Parliament from the German Party of Democratic Socialism.

The career of the young politician was developing successfully, thanks to her erudition and ability to conduct a discussion. Sarah Wagenknecht has become a frequent contributor to television news broadcasts. Her speeches in the Bundestag, criticizing the political course pursued by the government, evoked an approving reaction from citizens. As a member of the opposition party, he focuses on the observance of the rights of workers, protesting against the arbitrariness of the ruling bourgeois class.

Personal life

In her personal life, Sarah Wagenknecht tries to maintain stability. However, despite serious efforts, the first marriage with journalist and entrepreneur Thomas Nimmeier broke up thirteen years later. The husband and wife had no children, and this reduced the drama of the separation. Sarah remarried her partymate Oscar Lafontaine. Apparently a certain role in the formation of this union was played by love and mutual respect.
