In 2012, another Maxidrom music festival took place. This year he celebrated a small anniversary - 15 years. For the first time in the history of the event, it lasted two days and attracted a record number of guests.
On June 10 and 11, the festival was held at several sites at the Tushino airfield. The first concert day opened in not very good weather - it was pouring rain. But despite this, the musicians managed to warm up the hall. The festival began with a performance by the Russian band Biting Elbows. Then the members of the Irish band Therapy? Took the stage, playing music in a variety of styles - from grunge to indie. After them, not lowering the bar, but changing the style and mood, Clawfinger appeared - a Swedish-Norwegian group, one of the most prominent and significant representatives of the rap-metal direction. Towards the evening of the first day of Maksidrom, those appeared for which many of the 50 thousand visitors came. The Rasmus played almost an hour-long set. Finally, at about 7 pm, the headliners of the fifteenth Maxidrom, Linkin Park, took the stage. They have already attended several festivals since the beginning of summer and therefore were in great shape. The group performed for an hour and a half, that is, they played a full concert. Of course, it was accompanied by pre-prepared promotions from grateful fans.
On June 11, viewers received a new batch of famous names. The program of a sunny day was opened by the project Everlast, aka Eric Schrodi, mixing the genres of rap and acoustic rock. Oasis member Noel Gallagher came to Maxidrom, though not within the framework of the legendary group, but with a relatively new project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. For the final of Maxidrom, the organizers prepared a real bomb - The Cure. They performed for three hours, thus setting the record for the longest set in the history of the festival.
In addition to the main one, there were two additional scenes at Maksidrom. At one of them, the Chestars national music competition was held, in which young, not yet very well-known bands participated. In addition, there was a separate site for Radio Maximum, where the radio station's DJs held contests, allowing the crowd of thousands to be distracted from the music for a while.
