Traveling abroad is possible only with a foreign passport. At the request of the citizen, you can make a familiar old-style document that will be valid for five years, or a biometric passport, which you can not worry about replacing it twice as long. For the convenience of Yekaterinburg residents, paperwork is carried out in all areas of the city.
It is necessary
- - application form filled in two copies;
- - internal passport and copies of all pages that contain any information;
- - a receipt confirming the payment of the fee;
- - old passport (if any);
- - military ID (for men);
- - 4 photos 3, 5x4, 5 (for an old passport);
- - a copy of the work book, certified at the place of work.
Instructions
Step 1
On the official website of the Federal Migration Service, you can download an application form, which should be filled out without errors and blots. Old-style passport questionnaires are accepted both in handwritten form (filled with black paste) and printed on a computer. Applications for a biometric passport must be completed using technical means.
Step 2
Verify the completed application at your place of work. Also, do not forget to certify a copy of your employment record. If you are a student, the head of the educational institution must sign your questionnaire. Citizens who do not study or work do not need to certify the application.
Remember that a certified application form is valid for only ten days, during this period you must contact the FMS.
Step 3
Pay the state fee according to the details indicated on the official website of the FMS. You can also find out the account number in the nearest division of the Migration Service. The amount of the fee depends on which passport you plan to obtain. There are also special rates for minors.
Step 4
The finished package of documents must be submitted to the FMS department closest to you:

- st. East, 160.
Step 5
When submitting documents for a biometric passport, photographing will be done on the spot. If you are applying for an old-style passport, then your photographs should be pasted on the questionnaires.
Step 6
The passport will take about 4 weeks to prepare, so take care of its registration a few months before the intended vacation.
Step 7
In some cases, the issuance of a foreign passport may be refused. The reasons for this are:
- you have access to classified information;
- conscription for military service (including alternative civilian service);
- evasion of obligations imposed on you by the court;
- providing false information when submitting documents;
- not served until the end of the sentence for committing a crime;
- passing in a criminal case as a suspect or accused (before a decision is made on the case).
