In order to obtain Turkish citizenship, it is not necessary to renounce Russian citizenship, although this is a violation of the RF Federal Law “On Citizenship”. But so far, both the Russian and Turkish authorities do not pay much attention to this. However, if you do not want to have further problems with movement from Russia to Turkey and back, you will have to renounce the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
Instructions
Step 1
You can obtain Turkish citizenship on the following conditions:
- having bought real estate in this country;
- getting a job in Turkey;
- starting a business;
- having entered a Turkish higher education institution;
- by marrying a Turkish citizen.
Step 2
In order to buy property in Turkey, first obtain a residence permit for 6 months in this country. To obtain a residence permit, you must:
- open an account in one of the Turkish banks for at least $ 3000 (at the rate of $ 500 per month);
- get a tax number at the Tax Office (issued upon presentation of a passport);
- submit documents (tax number and bank certificate) along with a passport (and its apostille) and four color photographs to the Immigration Service.
Within a week you will receive a residence permit. If your bank account has at least $ 6,000, you will receive a residence permit immediately for 2 years.
Step 3
Choose a real estate object (house, apartment, plot) for purchase and complete the sale and purchase agreement by contacting the Cadastral Office of Turkey. After that, all documents will be sent to the Military Department, where they will be checked for several months, which is a prerequisite for issuing a certificate of ownership to a foreign citizen. But after receiving it, you will no longer need to renew the residence permit, and if you live in Turkey for 5 years (you are allowed to leave this country for no more than 180 days for the entire five-year period), then you can get citizenship.
Step 4
If you have an invitation from an employer (or from a Turkish business partner), contact him in order for him to issue a work permit for you, valid for 1 year. However, after 5-8 years of residence in Turkey on the basis of this permit, you will be able to apply for citizenship.
Step 5
Marry a Turkish citizen. When you get married, you can immediately get a residence permit for a period of one year, then extend it for another two. And only then can you apply for citizenship.
Step 6
To obtain Turkish citizenship, you will need the following documents:
- application form;
- Apostille of the Russian passport;
- a certified photocopy of a residence permit (at least for the next six months);
- documents for ownership of property and income certificates (certified by a notary);
- documents proving marital status (certificates of marriage / divorce in Russia from the registry office or a marriage certificate in Turkey);
- a certificate issued by the Turkish Ministry of Education confirming the required level of proficiency in the Turkish language;
- health certificate certified by the Russian embassy or consulate in Turkey;
