Reception of citizens on personal matters and work with citizens' appeals (written and oral) are an important and integral part of the duties of every deputy. A citizen has the right to apply to a deputy of any level: a deputy of the “Council of Deputies” of a particular locality; a deputy of a regional legislative authority (subject of the Russian Federation); Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (depending on the scale of the issue and the competence of the above-mentioned authorities).

Instructions
Step 1
State the problem on paper. Briefly and clearly state your request question. Attach copies of all relevant documents.
Step 2
Decide on which particular deputy you want to get to. Information about the deputies from the website of the authority can help you with this. Each deputy is a member of a committee (commission), which deals with issues related to, for example, social policy, budget, taxes and economic policy, legislation and local self-government, ecology, etc. It is advisable to contact a deputy based on the profile of his work.
Step 3
Find your contacts. Information about the next reception of citizens on personal matters of deputies in accordance with article 13 of the Federal Law of May 2, 2006 N 59-FZ "On the procedure for considering appeals of citizens of the Russian Federation" "is brought to the attention of citizens", including through the media. You just need to find a similar announcement and pre-make an appointment with the deputy. On the website of any authority there is a "contacts" section. Usually in this section you can find the address of the government body, the contact phone number of the parliamentary receptionists, their e-mail address, and the time of reception. Take advantage of this opportunity too.
Step 4
When going to an appointment with a deputy, take with you a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, as well as the documents you have prepared. Be prepared to verbally explain the essence of the problem to the deputy, answer questions, and offer solutions that are acceptable to you.
