Sometimes you want to know something about the external, ritual side of church life. Sometimes you need to ask about something more serious, for example, ask for advice in a difficult life situation. But many are shy or afraid to approach the priest.

Step 1
Choose a convenient time. It is unacceptable to distract the priest during the performance of the Church Sacraments. It is best to approach the priest after the end of the service. First you need to ask the priest for a blessing. Fold your hands in a cross: right to left, palms up. After receiving your blessing, kiss the priest's hand. This is not only a sign of reverence for a person wearing a holy order, but, most importantly, receiving a blessing from the Lord Himself. After that, you can ask a question.
Step 2
It's okay if you don't know how to behave in a particular case (how to ask for blessings, how to put candles correctly, how to kiss icons, etc.). If you find it difficult to perform some kind of ritual (for example, asking for a blessing), do not force yourself. Your coming to faith should be free and voluntary, and the performance of the rituals should be conscious. The priest will be kind to you in any way, even if you have very little experience in church life.
Step 3
In many parishes there is a dedicated time for conversations with parishioners. This is the most appropriate option to ask a question, because you can be sure that the priest has time for you. If such conversations are not held at the temple, just ask the priest when he can give you time.
Step 4
Many ask questions to the priest during their own confession. This is completely permissible, but you just need to remember that you should not detain the priest too long, because for sure he will have to confess other parishioners, and this takes a lot of time. In addition, confession is a sacrament that requires a serious prayer attitude and a deep desire to cleanse oneself from sins. If you still want to ask your question during confession, consider whether it would be appropriate.
Step 5
Communication with priests via the Internet is now widely practiced. On various sites, forums, social networks, there is an opportunity to ask a question to this or that priest. This can often be done anonymously, which is, of course, very convenient. But it must be borne in mind that the priest is not able to answer all questions virtually. He can only give general recommendations or direct your thoughts in a certain direction. But you should not rely entirely on such virtual communication, since only during a personal conversation will the priest be able to deeply delve into your situation.
