The sense of humor is sometimes called the sixth sense, implying that like sight, hearing, mental acuity is given to a person at the time of his birth. And if nature has not endowed an individual with this ability, it is almost impossible to learn to joke and make people laugh. However, it is not. A sense of humor can and should be trained.
Instructions
Step 1
Read the classics. For example, "12 Chairs" and "The Golden Calf", written by Ilya Ilf and Yevgeny Petrov. Judging by the fact that these books make more than one generation of readers laugh, quality jokes last a long time.
Step 2
Use templates. Proverbs, sayings, fixed expressions are the ideal raw material for a joke. After hearing a familiar beginning, listeners will expect a familiar ending. And as you know, the secret of a joke is originality and surprise. You can use two techniques: join and break.
When attached to a template, the template itself does not change, only one of its parts changes. For example, the familiar expression "One head is good, two is better" takes on a new meaning: "One head is good, but two will eat more."
When the pattern breaks, the structure of the familiar phrase also changes. For example, from the same expression you get a joke: “One head is good. And Siamese twins know it better than others."
Step 3
Play with words. The essence of the technique is to use several meanings of the same word. In the first part of the joke, this word has a certain meaning, and in the second, a different meaning is used. A classic example: “Stirlitz shot blindly. The blind woman fell."
Another way of playing with words is the use of metaphor, transferring the properties of one object to another, based on their similarity. The word "organs" in the expression "organs of power" has acquired a completely different meaning. Try to return it to its original meaning: "To save the life of the country requires a donor of authorities."
Step 4
Exercise constantly. To make people laugh, you don't have to give out a new tricky joke every time. It is enough to avoid cliched phrases when answering everyday questions. Try to find new, original solutions.
Step 5
Smile! In most cases, a benevolent smile evokes the disposition of the interlocutor, helps him to relax in your company, which means - to be more receptive to humor.
