Asking the question about a humane society, one would like to understand whether the formation and maintenance of such a society is possible in modern realities, or is this another utopia, the implementation of which is absolutely impossible.

What is a humane society

A humane society is a society that has taken the principles of humanism as the basis for its development. Humanism is a worldview, in the center of which is the human personality as the highest value, therefore, in a humane society, the rights of every person to freedom, happiness and realization are absolutely equal.

The ideas of a humane society were the most popular in the Renaissance, but all of them from a historical point of view are recognized as utopian, since they did not find proper implementation. The ideology of the Soviet Union also included features of a humane society, such as social justice resulting from the distribution of income among all residents of the USSR. Due to the mere idea of a bright, humane future (communism), the Soviet people succeeded in the unattainable: the Great Patriotic War was victoriously completed, production and agriculture were significantly expanded. But the movement towards humanism and social equality was interrupted by the country's transition to "capitalist rails", carried out in the 90s.

Most of the countries of the planet have abandoned socialism as a political system, but some have still not changed their chosen course. First of all, the People's Republic of China deserves attention, which, according to the adopted Constitution, is a socialist state with a democratic dictatorship of the people. China is not only rich in natural resources, but this country has also managed to colossally develop production, providing today the whole world with its products. And, I must say, in China, the social inequality index is significantly lower than in Russia.

In modern Russia, one can only dream of a humane society. The transition to capitalism and democracy has widened the gap between the living standards of the rich and the poor, and this gap continues to widen. We have practically no "middle class", and most of the population lives below the poverty line. That is why more and more new ideas about a humane society appear and spread. This is a really hot topic. One thing is clear enough: the current course of the government is unlikely to lead to the formation of a truly humane society on the territory of our country.
