It was he who once gathered the cult group Army of Lovers, and many later brought out the currently popular Gravitonas group.
Many people associate the name of Alexander Bard with music. However, Bard did not limit himself to a creative career in the music industry during his life. At this point in time, Bard is very much immersed in science.
Biography: childhood and adolescence
Alexander Bengt Magnus Bard was born in the small town of Mutala in Sweden. The date of his birth is March 17, 1961. It should be noted that Alexander is not the only child. He has a younger sister and three twin brothers.
The boy was born into a family that was not directly related to art or any kind of creativity. Alexander's father, named Joyan, was the owner of a modest-sized factory. Mother - Barbara - had a pedagogical education, she taught at one of the local schools. However, such a - not creative - atmosphere at home did not prevent little Bard from starting to show his talents from a young age. Due to the busyness of the parents, the upbringing of children, first of all, was dealt with by the grandmother who lived with them.
The boy grew up very active, sociable and independent. He wanted to learn everything without resorting to outside help. When Alexander Bard went to school at the age of seven, he already considered himself an adult man who was able not only to stand up for himself and defend his point of view, but also to take responsibility for his actions.
Little Alexander began to demonstrate his craving for music to his parents even at preschool age. Therefore, in the end, it was decided to send the boy to study in a music studio, where Bard went at the same time as he entered a comprehensive school. Despite the load, little Alexander showed strength of character, was not capricious and willingly attended lessons at a music school.
All childhood and adolescence of Bard did not pass in his hometown. As soon as he was 8 years old, the whole family moved to a provincial area near Stockholm. However, Bard was not at all happy about the silence around him, the calm and measured rhythm of suburban life. He was drawn to big cities, but at that time it was, alas, impossible for a little boy.
As he grew older, Alexander Bard became even more interested in music. At the same time, he sought not only to hear all the new items and learn to play musical instruments. He was interested in the process of creating musical compositions, as well as how contemporary performers and bands achieve success and fame.
As a teenager, Alexander very often visited clubs and discos, while behaving extremely relaxed, easily making new acquaintances. It should be noted that since childhood Bard had a peculiar, but attractive appearance. And his charisma captivated people around him. Therefore, Alexander Bard began to build relationships with young girls in high school.
When Bard was 15 years old, he was able to fulfill his secret dream - to move to a big city. The choice, of course, fell on the nearest Stockholm. He went to the metropolis not alone, but in the company of a friend who was several years older than Bard. Young people settled in one of the sleeping areas of Stockholm, starting to live in a rented apartment. To maintain a decent standard of living, to provide for both himself and his girlfriend, Alexander Bard had to work a lot, but he did not forget about music.
At the age of 16, Bard signed a contract with a record label based in Amsterdam. For some time he worked with them.
Bard later decided to continue his education. And as a result of this, he temporarily moved to Los Angeles. There he entered a theater studio. After graduating, Bard became very interested in religions. At one time he dreamed of being a priest, but at some point he nevertheless refused such an undertaking.
Alexander Bard received his second higher education already in Ohio. He chose for himself a completely new and not related to art direction - geography and economics. Later, returning to Stockholm, he entered the Academy of Sciences, graduating from there as a sociologist and ethnologist.
There is a small "dark spot" in the biography of Alexander Bard. At one time he broke the law by working as a hacker. When he was caught, Brad did not receive an immediate prison sentence. However, he was forced to work in a psychiatric hospital for several years in the role of an orderly (correctional labor).
After living in America for some time, Bard began performing in closed clubs, trying on the image of a Barbie doll. The show that he put on attracted the attention of the relevant public, Alexander Bard became famous in certain circles. All this happened in the mid-1980s. And following this, Bard came to grips with a musical career.
Musical projects of Alexander Bard
Perhaps the most famous and popular group, to the creation of which Bard was most directly involved, was the Army of Lovers. Alexander Bard not only assembled this team, he developed a general concept, was engaged in songwriting and music creation. It is worth noting that the group was originally created under the name Barbie, but at some point the members decided to radically change their image, style, musical direction. Following this desire, the name of the musical group also changed. The band's first full-length album was released in 1990. Throughout the history of its existence, the group has created 5 studio records, released many hit songs.
After the official disbandment of Army of Lovers in 1996, Alexander Bard formed a new group. The team was named Vacuum. In the late 1990s, the musical group had some success on stage, but did not become more popular than Bard's first project. After the second full-fledged disc of the collective, Bard ceases to be a member of Vacuum, but for some time he has been producing the guys.
During 1998, Bard tried himself exclusively as a songwriter, creating several hit songs for the former member of the ABBA group. And at the end of 1999, Alexander Bard launched his new musical project - Alcazar.
Another musical group BWO was formed by Bard in 2004.
The next rather successful project in the music industry was the Gravitonas group, which officially met in 2009.
Other works of the star
Despite his multifaceted musical career, Alexander Bard gravitates very strongly towards science. And at the moment he is putting a lot of effort into this particular area.
Bard is an advisor to the Minister of Sweden, deals with the development of the regions of his country, works in the field of social policy. In addition, he is a member of the teaching staff of Stockholm University, teaches at the School of Economics.
Alexander Bard cooperates with Microsoft, owns a certain amount of the company's shares. He is also busy working with Nokia and Volvo. In addition, he owns one of the largest recording studios in Sweden and has his own internet company.
During his life, Alexander Bard managed to publish three books that have gained worldwide fame.
