Alexey Kolosov was born in 1958, on November 8th. His parents were famous figures in the cinema. The father is the famous film director Sergei Kolosov, and the mother is the charming actress Lyudmila Kasatkina.

The first performance as a jazz artist happened in 1985. It was a traditional jazz festival that took place within the walls of the Moskvorechye cultural center. Alexey tried himself as a presenter of radio programs about jazz at the radio station "Yunost". It acquaints listeners with the directions of this unique musical culture, known and unknown performers from Russia and Europe.
Successful creative work led to the emergence of the "Aura" group. In 1992, Alexey Kolosov, saxophonist Lev Lebedev, pianist Dmitry Yakovlev, drummer Yevgeny Koseko, bassist Yevgeny Serkov created a wonderful professional team. The work on musical projects was very successful and the Aura group released several CDs.
The Big Sky competition, in which Aleksey Kolosov became the chairman of the jury, was first held in 2004. Alexey Kolosov had two marriages in his life. The musician created his first family in 1983. The general's beautiful daughter became his wife. Maria was engaged in editorial activity in one of the publishing houses in Moscow. A year after the wedding, the young couple had a daughter, Lyudmila. They had to live in the apartment of Masha's father. After ten married lives, Alexei and Maria divorced. In his second marriage, Alexey Kolosov is happy. The history of bonding the union with the second wife turned out to be a long one. Alexey's mother tried in every way to introduce and bring young people together.
