Even if you were born, raised or registered in Armenia, this will not be the basis for obtaining the citizenship of this country. The main thing is that you are of Armenian origin and can submit all the necessary documents to prove this.
Instructions
Step 1
Read the regulations of the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia and prepare all documents proving that you are Armenian by origin (birth / marriage certificates of your parents, grandparents, certificates from the archives on the repatriation of Armenian citizens, etc.).
Step 2
Collect other documents, namely: - passport; - birth and marriage certificates (if any) and their certified copies; - medical certificate of health status and the absence of any dangerous diseases; - certificate of no criminal record in the country where you have permanently resided for the last 10 years; - certificate from the place of residence; - 6 photos 3, 5? 4, 5; - certified copies of documents of the husband (wife) and / or children, parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters who are already citizens of Armenia (for those who want to obtain citizenship under the law on family reunification).
Step 3
Since another prerequisite for obtaining Armenian citizenship is knowledge of the state language of this country and the basics of the Constitution of Armenia, prepare for passing special tests.
Step 4
Contact a notary in order for him to certify copies of your documents and documents of your relatives (passports and certificates of birth and marriage), translated into Armenian. Check the spelling of the data, as due to the complexity of the Armenian alphabet translators may make mistakes.
Step 5
You can apply for Armenian citizenship directly in this country within 3 months from the date of entry (for Russian citizens, a visa is not required to enter / exit). Contact the OVIR and fill out the application form, receive a receipt for payment of the state duty and enter the required amount to the bank.
Step 6
Present all the documents you have to the OVIR staff and take tests for knowledge of the Constitution and the Armenian language. Get a residence permit.
Step 7
Obtain Armenian citizenship in a period of six months to two years according to a simplified scheme, renewing the residence permit every six months. Moreover, if you are a citizen of Russia, then you will retain the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
